Small restourant in the middle of the historic center of town , in a retro style , a stone's throw from the funicular . Tables outside , extensive wine list and menu with choices of meat , fish or vegetarian .
Ottimo i piatti e ben presentati.

Consigliata.

The restaurant is cozy with a wide selection of dishes ranging from classic margherita pizza to seafood specialties like lobster linguine, thus ensuring the possibility to satisfy all tastes.
Great pizzas - yummy and big, perfectly cooked. The fish is also a specialty, it is fresh, try it on the weekend when the choice is bigger. Prices are ok, I think it is a good quality/price. Service is lovely as well, the owners are the ones working, so they care about the customers. The restaurant is big, the outdoor area is definitively very comfortable. I went on a cold night too, and it was well heated. Good location - on the way to the Santuario di Vicoforte - worth a visit!

Staying at the L'Albergo dell'Academia we were invited to the Cantine Bonaparte for dinner. Within walking distance of the hotel we managed to stumble back to the hotel post dinner. As a group we were offered several courses for a flat fee. All the dishes were fantastic and arranged beautifully. The view is second to none and the single malt went down quite smoothly.

A friend of ours recommended this small osteria located right on main square of Mondovì's historic center. Once you enter your eyes immediately look up to the beautifully restored frescoes on the ceiling of this historic building. The restaurant's decor is a comfortable blend of old and new. Since it was a chilly evening we opted to dine inside but there are several tables outdoors under the porticoes with views of the piazza. For starters we ordered Vitello Tonnato and it was out of this world. Moist, tender, thin slices of veal roast that were pink and moist. The tonnato sauce was thick and full of flavor. It was a great version of this classic local dish. We opted for a "light" main course and ordered the Insalata di Polpo which is a warm salad of grilled octopus, potatoes, olives and capers with a lemony vinagrette. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender. To go with our dinner we ordered a bottle of Lighea from Donna Fugata and it was a match made in heaven. We found Caffè Bertaina to be a great place for dinner and can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu. This locale is a great addition to Mondovì's dining scene.

Historical Osteria in Mondovì Breo, the Quattro Stagioni, completely renewed in March 2007, offers the possibility of tasting the typical Piedmontese specialities at lunch and dinner every day except on Monday. The disposition of the tables in the unique
I had the chance of having few dinners at Quattro Stagioni during a stay in a guesthouse nearby called Mondovi Ridente. The restaurant is true to the local dedication to good food and I enjoyed the experience. There are more thrilling places in and around Mondovi (Marsupino is an example) but there's nothing wrong trying this one. Their beef dishes are marvels.
