Things to do in Kupang
Beach side hang out in down town Kupang, overlooking the bay. Music week ends. Nice for hanging out for a beer or soft drink, with a pool table for those who want to play. Relaxed place to meet friends.
If you are looking for Timorese cuisine, look no further! Dapur Koepang is the café of choice for the locals. The simple ambiance is nothing to write home about, but this âKupang Kitchenâ offers great home cooking for those homesick for Timorese fare. Near the entrance is a wooden âcartâ with buffet selections to choose from. The set menus are listed, and diners can request what they like to be delivered to their table. The food is delicious, the service efficient, and the price very reasonable.
Twin's restaurant is a recommendation of my local office and rightfully so. Good food, the signature dish seems to be Se'i (beef), but grilled fish and papaya salad are worth a try also.

We came here for dinner, hoping that we would get a half decent meal. As Kupang isn't a tourist destination, and we were the only people dining, we were a little worried, about the quality of the food, and where they would source it (we had visited the local food market). We were very pleasantly surprised, the whole grilled fish was cooked to perfection!! In fact the whole meal, was cooked to perfection. The beat fish I'd ever eaten. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can't wait to eat here again. Dear RebeccaThank yau for comming to our place.Thank you verry much for the exellent review.Hope you will come to our place again when you in town.

After couple of days of having an adventurous food, well you need your stomach to be a bit normal. My choice of normal and standard food in Kupang is this restaurant. Located in Bay area they serve choices of Indonesian food and chinese food with standard taste (not too salty and not too spicy). Nice ambiance at dining, also they had live music (single organ) at night. The food price is also reasonable, they serve fresh sea food. Recommended for your family or couple.... do try the mung bean ice.

Its a local seafood restaurant. Located at Jl. Piet A. Tallo Liliba, Kupang. Similar like other Seafood restaurant, it sells seafood menu such as roasted fish, crabs etc.
Excellent fresh grill red grouper fish. Good rica-rica sambal at side as I prefer the fish to be grilled with salt only. Good price too for such quality and taste. Looks like an iconic eating place in Kupang as many celebrity photos hung on wall.
