Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Edinburgh’s neighborhoods developed as the city did. Originally its heart lay in the alleys and cobbled streets of the Old Town, below the castle. Then, in the late-18th century, the residential focus shifted north to a huge planned Georgian New Town. That’s now become the city’s business center, while visitor attractions and nightlife have become fairly evenly shared between these two central districts. Around them, a ring of residential districts now house most of those living in central Edinburgh. Though less good for sightseeing, these neighborhoods are just as busy and typified by thriving restaurant scenes and large parks.

Family of four celebrating 18th Birthday and wanted something special. We certainly found it and then some. This is top class service and food. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the welcome by all staff was tremendous. We had starters of Langoustine tails, scallops and smoked duck. Followed by mains of chilled seafood platter and the bream. The presentation and flavour was faultless. I could see the same high quality with all meals being served. The fish surpassed anything we have had at Portugal and we go there for the fish.

We enjoyed our third visit to the Lighthouse today and was delighted with the friendly welcome, wonderful food, fresh from the fishermanâs trawler and nice ambiance. This is a lovely little restaurant overlooking Newhaven Harbour which never disappoints. Iâve tried a few different fish dishes now, everyone fantastic but they also have a meat and a vegetarian option too which weâre all well received. Word of warning though, do book in advance to ensure a table. Weâve heard a few disappointed travellers be turned away

Exciting, playful food using Scotland's larder, gardens, seas and lochs to celebrate dishes that inspire us. Seasonal and sensational. Inspiring Scottish ingredients. Nourishing community values. We are a social enterprise restaurant where our profits are
We found this very small restaurant from reviews on TripAdvisor on our first night in Edinburgh. The restaurant is tucked away and was a short walk from our hotel in York Place. It is probably essential to book as it does not look to have more than twenty-five covers packed into a comparatively small space. All seats were taken when we visited. The front of house staff were very enthusiastic and helpful and engaged with all the customers. The menu is quite large for such a small restaurant with about nine choices for starter and main courses. Service was efficient without any long gaps between courses, but we never felt rushed in any way.The food was all well cooked and presented. Portion sizes were good and for the prices charged the whole meal was excellent value for money. So much so that at the end of our meal we re-booked for our last evening in Edinburgh too. That meal was equally good and we would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to any residents or visitors to Edinburgh.

Southern Italian using the very best of Italian and local Scottish produce.
We visited here when fringe was on but staff were pleasant and food was exceptional! Such a friendly atmosphere, and for the time we were in they turned away 13 parties who hadnât booked. Special shout out to Eleanor who guided us to the fish platter which did not disappoint. Wish we lived nearer but cannot recommend highly enough!
