Whilst in Spain recently we found La Gabia just by the sea front in Calella, they serve a wide variety of food and drinks at very reasonable prices - you know its good when the locals go there. If what you are looking for is not on the menu the staff will try to make up what you want and the Damn with lemon beer is really theist quenching - especially in the heat there at this moment.

We had Sangria, olives, mixed salads, boquerones, and fried calamari. It was the best meal we had during our trip. Full of flavour. The service was friendly and English speaking. The seating on the street was comfortable and full of atmosphere. Recommended!

Were taken here by some Russian friends, who had discovered it the day before. The setting was a bit out of the way, but once there you had a nice shaded terrace to sit at. The food was top quality and tasted fantastic. I think you could tell it was good by the number of locals which eat there. Nice host and staff. I would have given the place 5 stars if it was not I thought the prices were a bit steep (I suspect you are paying for the quality), and they had no menu in English (they had it in other languages).

This is a high class restaurant, selling first class food. Nevertheless, they do a 4 course lunchtime menu for a bargain price of â¬10.90! We started with a meaty consomé, which is apparently made of vegetables. I had macaroni with a chicken sauce next, followed by a delicious black rice, sticky with squid ink. My pudding was a sensational strawberry and pistachio tart. Wine isn't included n the menu, but cost a very reasonable â¬9.90. The waiter service was impeccable.I love their Christmas snowman in the palatial car park..

Had super family dinner here last night. Great mix of local dishes with some burgers and steaks also. Cheerful engaged staff took time to explain any queries we had. Excellent wine list. Most customers were Spanish/Catalan with a lot of regulars judging by interactions with staff....always a good sign. We booked 48 hours in advance and on the night it was fully booked from 8pm on. A short enough walk from Calello train station and worth travelling for. Thanks for recomending us!We are glad that you enjoyed your visit at NUI Beach.
