Senglea (Maltese: L-Isla [ˈlɪslɐ]), also known by its title Città Invicta (or Civitas Invicta), is a fortified city in the South Eastern Region of Malta. It is one of the Three Cities in the Grand Harbour area, the other two being Cospicua and Vittoriosa, and has a population of slightly below three thousand people. The city's title Città Invicta was given because it managed to resist the Ottoman invasion at the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. The name is Senglea since the Grand Master who built it, Claude de la Sengle, gave this city a part of his name.

Amorino Gelateria serve typical Italian fashion gelato and sorbets. We use only the freshest free range organic eggs and the highest grade whole milk. Absolutely no coloring agent or artificial flavours will be found in our gelato - this is one of Amorino's fundamental principles. Enjoy traditional Italian coffee, gourmet drinks, hot chocolates or teas together with a crépe or a waffle or why not try out our gelato macarons. In the mornings we serve freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat.
Fabulous! I had the coffee, caramel and chocolate. I'd happily be a regular if only I had an Amorino near me. Absolutely delicious, smooth and delightfully presented.

Lovely unpretentious atmosphere in this excellent gin cocktail bar. The staff really know all the 220 gins and have great suggestions. They are knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Alexa, from Canada, is a mixologist extraordinaire. Seek her out for a great cocktail.
Tapas is delicious here as well

Sotto pizzeria italiana, rising up a72 hours, a mixture of selected 4 flour to eat the real Roman pizza. Sotto pizzeria italianaSouth Street in Valletta, 32.
If you visit Valetta it would be a shame if you wouldn't visit Sotto. One of the best pizza in the world. Best ingredients. Beautiful interior. Kind and easygoing staff.
We tried one with pork cheek and parmigiano and one with Parma ham. Both outstanding. Delicious. Perfect.
And then tiramisu, light as the air. Perfect end of fantastic late lunch.
Highly recommended experience.

CLOSED<br>Located just off the main street of Valletta near Burger King, this contemporary bistro welcomes you in a cosy lounge setting. Our menu offers a wide variety of Pasta, Salads and Gourmet Sandwiches, as well as Grills. Our specialties are BBQ Ribs with homemade Blueberry-BBQ sauce and the "Full-House" Burger.
We ate here last night and we had the fillet of beef and the ribs followed by the cheesecake and they were all excellent. The portions are big and the meat is very tender. The young Macedonian waitress is very attentive, friendly, smiley and went out of her way to ensure we were happy and well looked after. They also had live music with a lady singing and playing guitar which was very enjoyable. We have eaten in other restaurants in Valletta, but for us this was by far the best and we highly recommend it.

BEATI PAOLI Restaurant, located at 240, St Paul's Str, Valletta. If it is a lunch or a dinner, BEATI PAOLI is the ultimate restaurant to eat in.
We had read reviews, and were looking forward to a great meal. Limited menu, but no problem if cooked well. Indifferent (unsmiling) service. Main courses all served on cold plates. Rare veal chops on cold plates? Cold vegetables. Chef asked if we had enjoyed the meal. We said the food was cold. His explanation was that the electric plate warmer was not working! (We didn't ask if he'd thought of hot water in a sink.) Sweet limited to three choices (not even an ice cream option). Big big disappointment, and not cheap. We appreciate this may have been a bad night, but suggest there are better places to eat in Valetta.
