We have visited this place today since it got great review on air in CZ Kitchen nightmares and it was worth it.
The building is very nice surrounded by beautiful rustic houses and spectacular piece of land.
We tryed duck broth - could have been lil bit stronger but otherwise very good and homemade. Than we had beef tartar which was delicious - one of the best Ive ever eaten.
As a main course we had trout with lime sauce and duck with dumplings and cabbage, everything was very tasty, maybe just the trout needed little bit more salt and to be better unboned.
All members of staff were friendly, they just could be little bit faster.
Overall nice place to spend ur lunch & afternoon.

You can't really expect a small Czech steak house in a little out-of-the-way town like Policka to serve stunning vegetarian food, but my wife and I were still really happy to find this cosy pub-style place with spinach pancakes on the menu, even if they weren't perfect. Washed down with a few pints of good draft Pilsner, it was a fine lunch anyway, and pretty full for a spring Tuesday. So if you're a veggie Martinu fan paying homage, not a bad place to eat, and for meat-eaters probably even better.

I visit this place everytime I come to Policka. This is a family run businness by mother and daughter. They are very pleasant and friendly and can make one of the best crèpes I have ever eaten. Almost like in France not mentioning really nice atmosphere. Definitely a place to go!
Patisserie and snacks, desserts, cakes, cookies from the family's pastry shop, gluten-free (Jessy), regional food, cold dishes, home-made - healthy salads, sandwiches, stuffed baguettes, rolls. Bristot coffee, homemade lemonade, ice cream Carte D'OR.

Ate here a lot during my stay in Policka.
Portion sizes were good, the service great.
Medieval theme to this restaurant and Saturday night there was a troop of actors putting on plays for the diners. They even did one in English for us.
The outside eating area isn't very well lit so was difficult to see what we were eating after dark. That said there was ample Seating inside.
A meal, meat, sides and a couple of beers was less than £10 a head.
If I'm ever back in Policka I wouldn't hesitate to go here again.

We came here after having a lunch elsewhere but wanted something sweet and a drink. Nothing else was open anywhere else in Policka. We had cold drinks and pancakes which came with canned peaches and cream. I have to say the service was a bit slow but the pancakes were freshly made and rather delicious. They have toilets which one can use as a customer without a charge or pay 5 Kc and use them without drinking or eating in the pub.

Once you enter, you feel like in the last century. Tables for 4 persons randomly placed in the room, padded fishes on the walls and above the bar fur of kangaroo.
List of aprox. 8 meals on the blackboard ... Soft drinks from plastic bottles ... :-(
But the cook does his work well, meals are fair with high quality ingrediaents.
We were the only guests so the only waiter payed us all the attention.
