We are very proud that the most of our ingredients we use in our Restaurant are organic production!Even the meat and cheese are coming from the island of Mljet and they are very limited edition! With all food we are serving home made olive oil and home made bread! Thank You and welcome!
If you are visiting Mljet this is place that you have to come. Food was excelent, ambient is even better, waiter who is also owner was perfect and he made our visit unforgettable. See you again soon.

We all came here for dinner upon recommendation from our hosts. First of all, I do not understand how so many people were impressed with this restaurant. The location is nice and the service reasonable, but it was completely let down by the very poor, overpriced food. The octopus salad for starter was bland and did not contain any vegetables (when it should) apart from two rings of onion. For mains, one of our party ordered shrimps "na buzaru", a renowned Dalmatian dish (see attached image). Rather than being served in a deep plate or bowl with lots of sauce that contains plenty of garlic and parsley, the shrimp (which did not taste at all fresh) came on an ordinary plate with hardly any sauce. The sauce that was there was spicy (authentic "na buzaru" is never spicy), without any hints of garlic or parsley. Frankly, it was the worst version of this dish I have ever encountered. The home made bread we were served consisted of only a few slices that were paper thin (see second attached image), and this bread was not free. I could go on, but you get the impression of what a miserable evening we had with such bad food that was so overpriced.

Located in Okuklje bay, this family restaurant gives you opportunity to combine home atmosphere with unique gastronomic experience. Started in 2004 as small traditional restaurant, Maestral restaurant had the same goal as it is today – to serve fresh food and to make guests satisfied. In 2012, young and perspective chef gave a new approach to local cuisine and started with modern taste of tradition. Each ingredient carefully chosen and prepared by educated kitchen staff, served and presented by brother and sister. Followed by famous phrase "A meal without wine is like a day without sun", Maestral restaurant gives you opportunity to taste famous croatian wines from all croatian regions. All of this in peaceful surrounding of Okuklje bay is something every man would think of when word vacation comes out. It's perfect stop-point for gastro-lovers also as for those who are not afraid to try something new and interesting.
We were actually just trying to find a place to have our lunch when we stumbled upon this place. We didn't quite expect the quality of the food they offered, which was very good. They have a few set menus, but I tried some risotto and black pasta and it was excellent.
It's run by a family where everyone seems to chip in, and it feels like they care about their customers. Nice view of the bay from the restaurant as well. Would visit again.

We came in bay Okuklje, island Mljet with idea of having safe berth for our boat and good dinner. There are several restaurants in Okuklje and we did not know where to go. Tripadviser helped to select restaurant Maran. Unfortunately there was no free berths on restaurant moorings. Owner managed to squeeze us on berth what we appreciate very much. It was early evening and we were planning dinner at 2100. Owner asked what we would like to eat. My wife like grouper but owner says that they prepare grouper only in stew what is traditional way of Dalmatian cocking. Considering that there is enough time (proper preparation take 2-3 hours) we opted for stew. It was really good choice. Food was delicious, nicely decorated. We did not remember where we eat last time such good grouper stew accompanied with Pošip Čara (excellent Croatian white wine). Second bottle was honored by restaurant owner. We invite owner to seat with us. He told us stories about island Mljet, tradition etc. In mean time another bottle was honored by restaurant owner.
Thanks to Tripadviser help we had excellent evening !

The octopus is cooked on wood oven with mixed vegetables! Traditional Croatian cooking. Simply 'heavenly'! We just had these. I also got sea urchin from the bay in front of the restaurant. They served them to me! It was an out of this world experience! To eat something you fish!
Highly recommend! You swim in front the restaurant

For the 5th time, we sailed again into this lovely hidden bay on the North side of the Island Mljet, Croatia.
At the far end, out of sight almost, one can find a small restaurant/B&B.
You can more your boat on their private pontoon, where you will get facilities like water and electricity and shower. No mooring fees, no exxtra costs.
A warm welcome is awaiting every visitor and the lady of the house will bring you frechly baked cake, applestrudel or pancakes.
In the evening you can sit on the terras enjoying the lovely vieuw of the bay , whilst the lady of the house is preparing your dinner
The choises are fish or meat, simpel straight forward cooking, local style on the grill. When ordered in advance Lamb under the bell.
We love to sail in Croatia and explore the Islands and enjoy the local food.
Lampalo is however our favourite and we pay the place avisit or even two every year we go on a sailing trip in Croatia.
Already we are looking forward too spend a few days with Per and his wife next year.

We came here based on a recommendation from a local. As promised they have great cocktails, they don't have much food but we got the cheese plate which was plenty to tide us over before dinner. Homemade olive oil was amazing!! Great service, friendly staff.
