We eat their food regularly and the service as well as the food is great. Margaret and Johnny is always helpful and willing to lend a hand. They deliver throughout the town and it is convenient that you can place orders online too. Great stuff!!

Had dinner here a few days ago with our family. What a dinner it was! We agree fully with all previous reviewers about the superb quality of the steaks that are served here. But not just the steaks are great, so is the service, as is the entire atmosphere of this restaurant. Highly recommended therefore!

The used serviette under our table and sticky table top should have warned me but I decided I didn't want to be a hyper- critical city slicker. So we sat down and ordered the ribs with vegetables. I can't say it was a disaster but it certainly wasn't great: ribs were cold and seemed to have been boiled and then slathered with a barbecue sauce. The veggies were cold and poorly seasoned. A member of our party refused to ear and went across the road to the Fishaways. His meal was hot, tasty and a lot cheaper!

We were going to make a quick stop in Aliwal North on our journey from East London to Bloemfontein at the Wimpy's, bit the newly opened Saffron Kitchen beckoned us. We were with a group of 14, so we simply asked the owner what was ready and he said Mutton Curry. Wow! Fantastic, and not only the curry, we had samosas filled with a wonderful mince curry. We also had several types of salads and we finished with a bread pudding. Amazing food and fantastic service on the banks of the Orange River. Be sure to ask the owner about the history of the 1880's stone toll house the restaurant is in and the stone toll charge that he saved from the bank of the river. This adds a bit of back story to the building and makes for animated conversations with the owner.

Retro - Vu Diner is situated 5 km outside of Aliwal North, on the N6. It is an American style diner, with the best breakfast, burgers and shakes in town! 70's style decor, definitely something you don't see everyday! Excellent quality and services is what makes our brand so phenomenal.

We had breakfast at this beautiful little gem on the outskirts of Aliwal-North. It is period decorated and will tantalize your senses with pink and blue walls, nice little tables and wall decorations that you want to take home. The food is good and of proper proportions. Make sure you will be able to handle it, otherwise share with your partner. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
