Accommodation: Our 18-acre coastal estate offers 27 villas designed for privacy and relaxation, 12 with plunge pools. Each villa is contained within large private garden yards, and offer outdoor showers, hammocks, chaise longue and private dining. We welcome guests with a hospitality that is at once professional and laidback, offering travelers an authentic taste of the Malabar Coast culture. We minimize our footprint on the land in order to maximize the experience of the natural beauty of this beach setting - no crowds, ever. Restaurant: All-day dining at pool-facing healthy fusion cuisine restaurant serving the guest organic produce grown within the resort, as well as inputs from nearby villages. The beach is a 200-meter walk from the restaurant. At A Glance: Swimming, apart from the sea itself, can be enjoyed in our pool offering shallow sections for young ones and beginners, and deeper sections as well.Bicycles usage only inside the property.
I am surprised that this place got such high reviews on Travel Trip. My standards/ expectations are higher The room is ok - large but lacks flavor/ flow The outdoor bathroom is ok - large but lacks flavor/ flow The private verandah is of no use - uncared grass/ hardly any plants The premises are so disappointing & uncared for - especially after the swimming pool - its like a junk yard to me - even 3 star hotels have better maintained outdoor premises The area around the the cottages is tolerable - needs a lot of upgrading. The pond where the kayaks are is dirty & uninviting. The swimming pool is small. The open drain running through the property is full of green moss, The beach is public - most hotels have public beaches but the hotels still maintain the area leading till the beaches - this is standard practice There is no tv in the room - fine - but then the other facilities that you offer should be good enough. There is lack of maintenance all over the place except the cottages/ restaurant/ pool I have just come from the Brunton Boatyard at Kochi - it was a perfect 10 - this place is a 2 - 1 for the room/ bathroom & 1 for the staff - the staff are good but the management needs to maintain this place - its a total rip off at 11k a night - except the cottage/restaurant/pool the resort premises are a total junkyard - wish i never came Avoid this hotel - i am from chennai - the 3 star beach hotels outside Chennai on the coast have better maintained premises

Marari Beach sprawls across 55 acres of lawns, far-flung lotus ponds and whispering coconut groves, all threaded through with stone- flagged pathways. Living: Modelled on the fishermens' dwellings of Mararikulam, your accommodations are a fine balance between traditional form and modern function. Dining: At Marari Beach, you can enjoy the simple traditional dishes of the fisherfolk (along with, of course , a variety of international cuisine favourites) at our verandah- style restaurant. Dinners are candlelit, often with live music. Healing: Marari Beach has a fully equipped ayurvedic centre, so you can get all the benefits of this ancient system of medicine. Put yourself in the hands of our expert masseuses and you'll feel reborn. There are also regular yoga classes on the beach, in the thick of a cool coconut grove. The locale, we're told, does wonders for your inner serenity. Need we say more?
We have stayed at Marari Beach many times and have finally managed to return after Covid - to a fantastic warm welcome from JohnyTom (GM) and his team. Special mention to Housekeeping who kept our villa sparkling and to Chefs Saiju and Rinto for the fabulous meals. Thanks to all. Looking forward to our next stay

In god’s own city, a magnificent 1hour journey from Kochi, is Seclude, Marari Sands. This beautiful resort has 13 hideaway rooms and villas and is bordered by a stunning beach with the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Seclude Marari sands provides you with meandering stone paths leading to your private villa, nestled in lush green grass and beautiful blue skies. Come take a dip in the blue sea or a leisurely stroll on the beach as the sun sets and emerse yourself in the wonderful local cuisine.
The hotel itself is clean but the beach is filthy and people defecate next to the beach, not a pleasant sight in the morning. The food was excellent and the service good. Shame there were no female staff, again reflection of a male dominated society. Not value for money as it is expensive and definitely not a 5 star accommodation .

We short listed this resort for our breakout after the long pandemic induced lockdown. The place provided us with just the right dose of stress relief we needed. The location is just perfect. It is well away from the bustling city and traffic. It is a very peaceful and blissful ambience. The property has only 4 rooms and hence you won’t have much of a crowd over there. If your party has enough folks that you book all the 4 rooms then you pretty much have all the property to yourself. The rooms serve the right amount of comfort. The staff are very courteous and go over and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Best part is that you don’t order from a menu. Just let the staff know ahead of time as to what your taste buds crave for. They serve you with the most delicious food you can think of. It was undoubtedly one of the best experiences ever. This trip was with my friends and now I am already planning my next visit with family over there.

The Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort, situated at the Marari beach close to the Alappuzha backwaters, comprises of 40 luxury villas, a traditional Ayurveda Spa, Two Backwater Suite in Muhamma, One Two Bedroom House Boat and a Sailing Club. The villas are designed to reduce energy and water consumption as well as minimize the use of exhaustible materials. The eco-friendly resort ensures that we use materials such as jute, bamboo, recycled cardboard instead of wood, reprocessed plastic and scrap wood. While at the resort, travellers can take lake/ backwater tours to gaze at the gorgeous paddy fields of Alapphuza, try out the early-morning yoga sessions, unwind at the beach, relax at the spa, enjoy performances by local traditional dancers and Kerala’s range of percussion music, try their hand at night fishing, cycle around villages or sail the backwaters and learn a bit of archery.
My experience at this property has been fabulous. The space on a small beach front is like a resort. Very comfortable villas with private pools. The Ayurveda therapy is the best with lovely highly trained therapists. The most lovely happy friendly faces. They go the extra mile, always willing to please. Special shout out to Tintu, Sabina & Binci. The food was apt for my plan. The F&B manager Joseph and his crew really made our stay a good one. Catered to our every need. Always had a smile on their faces. Yoga was easy to adapt to and the yoga instructor was a great help with all the little kinks we brought up. Last but not least the manager Preejith and his crew were just outstanding. We were left for wanting nothing. Everything was provided and we had a happy healthy stay. Look forward to going back again soon.

This was our first visit to this CGH Earth property. We’ve been to other CGH Earth properties before. The good experiences and good feelings continue here as well. A very nice, enjoyable and relaxing stay. The service and people are so kind, smiling and ready to please you. Rooms/villas are well appointed, comfortable and clean. Food is tasty and excellent. Try the local favourites if you enjoy different cuisines. We had a private pool Villa and it was the best. The common pool is clean and great as well. The property is spread out so that could be a bit of a problem for senior citizens or people with walking troubles. The hotel does provide buggies to ferry people around but the number is limited and therefore there could be delays. PROS: Great staff and service, nice cottages/villas, good food and a overall great experience. CONS: No TV in the rooms (but that’s a CGH earth policy I think), basic room service, long walks could be a problem for people with walking difficulties Overall we loved it and had a pretty good time. Definitely recommended.
