We stayed here for 2 nights and we enjoyed everything : the place, the big room, the cheap price, the food...and most of all, the great welcoming of the person in charge at the reception (and great cook!). Thanks a lot for everything Greg, Gabriel and Camille

While the room was fairly basic, i give top marks for cleanliness in this resort. And Tim, the manager, made sure that we were comfortable and even apologized for the simple breakfast that would be served the next morning. Good location with a beautiful garden.

Wanna take a hot shower? Not in this hotel! They only offer hot water for a short period of time, and you have to wait for 1.5 hours for it to arrive in your room… Room was dirty, damp, and full of ants in the bathroom. Staff was terrible, said she would call me back to help resolve my issues, but never did! The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

The bungalows are cute. Bed is hard and no fridge. Geckos had nested in our bed.. so obviously not changed or aired in a while. Lots of egg shells and poo in the bed. Plus of course the family of geckos running amok all night... poo and wee dropping on any body part exposed.... Reception just ignored our request for clean sheets and gecko removal... Also the fluoro bulb in our bungalow wouldn't turn off fully... so it was hard to sleep with a flickering bulb. Again, reception just not interested at all in fixing it. The place is up for sale, so maybe the owner has already given up... all of the above considered, it's a nice setting etc - but we would not stay there again. Hundreds of other choices.... without the lizard welcome.

Seven (7) km out of the town of Mae Hong Son , Fern Resort is nestled in a small valley. Surrounded by forest-covered mountains and rice paddies, it offers comfortable accommodation in unspoiled, yet soothing nature. A small creek and a well maintained ground with rich fauna and flora make this eco-tourism resort the perfect place to stay for nature lovers. We would like our resort to be the forest home for the naturalist who is looking for a peaceful place. You will not find telephones or TVs in your room, but instead you can enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature.
I stayed here with three friends while backpacking SE Asia, and we absolutely loved it! Such a beautiful resort with great food and lovely people. The resort backs out onto a nature trail. I will be back someday!

Well it is very cheap and the people are friendly but it's a long way out of town and very basic. Hard bed. Only cold water in the washbasin. Shower either freezes you or burns you and no in-between. There was no breakfast option when we were there. Rooms are simple but clean. We were woken at 4am by an animal in the roof space scratching on the ceiling - went on for ages. Didn't have a good night's sleep.
