We live across the street and this is a great place to stop for a drink. Don't expect anything fancy, but the beers are priced well and wine is OK too. Always a friendly crowd and attentive bartenders. But if you're hungry, go somewhere else - the food isn't very good, even when you're inebriated.

Give me a relaxed welcoming environment serving great food over a uptight fancy pants restaurant serving overpriced food every time. Star Pizzeria did not disappoint. Here I will say that it's everything that makes it great. The chill bar with lots of tables, tv's, locals, cheap beer, and good food. We ordered a plain and pepporni pizza. The pizza was crispy, cheesy, and tasty. It was good in a thin crust bar style pizza is good. Would I go back just for the pizza? Probably not but if someone wants good food, cheap drinks, and a casual atmosphere. Star Tavern is a great spot.

Tremendous happy hour with excellent food. Choose from an enormous amount of small plates for only $4 each. The amazing part though is the quality of the food. Not your typical bar food, but rather more on the gourmet side. The drink specials are fantastic as well. You can get a martini for $6, wine or beer for $3 a glass. You can even get IPA beer for that price. Amazing. Plus I want to thank the owner Brandon who let us sit in the dining room for happy hour since the happy hour is for the bar area. Brandon let our party of six sit in the main dining room and never rushed us out. And the service was phenomenal as well. Grad, our server was great. It was just an excellent dining experience all around.

First, parking. My wife and I searched in vain for a street parking place in front of, side streets, or rear of this pub. Maybe the third time around the block, my wife spied the Egan parking lot behind the pub! It's big, but the couple we met also missed it. The pub is excellent. Excellent food, extensive beer list. My wife is vegetarian, and there were a number of choices for her. We recommend the "Irish Toasties" (small toasted sandwiches with tomato, cheese, mushrooms and bacon). The Shepherd's Pie (here "Cottage Pie") was well done with small chunks of tender beef. My wife's salad topped with salmon she described as perfectly done and delicious. The wife of the couple we met complained of a cold. She had a Hot Toddy, and later turned to her husband and said, "Honey, order me another one of those. It's really helped!" We met for lunch on.a Saturday to avoid night driving, and stayed for three hours -- an excellent time.

Went Tuesday for lunch. Sat in back atrium area. Pleasant with lots of natural light. Also outside patio seating available in good weather. Server was very nice and efficient but not especially attentive and restaurant was not crowded. Hamburger was very good and waffle fries were excellent.

I came here with my parents and fiance for a joint birthday celebration. While Verona was a bit out of the way for both of us, we were very happy that we ended up here.We kicked things off with the Firecracker Calamari, which is basically my dream of a perfect dish. Crispy calamari with hot cherry peppers, olives, capers, scallions, garlic, and balsamic - heaven. The taste was just like I hoped - I wish more places had this. We also had the Baked Brie appetizer, which was tasty as well and served with raspberry sauce and grilled crostini. For my main, I went with the short rib. It was cooked to perfection, and I left stuffed and satisfied. Added bonus - they had the Devils game on. Overall, a great dining experience and joint birthday celebration that we'll remember.
