We stayed at the Grand Tirolia and had dinner at their restaurant "Herbarium". We had a great evening, firstly the dinner was excellent, with great and attentive service. We had some after dinner drinks in the bar, which is a nice place as well. All in all, together with a round of golf at the Eichenheim course, we had a really enjoyable stay and recommend hotel, restaurant, bar and golf course highly. (mind you, if you are looking for a cheap dinner, keep on looking).
We happened across this old pub whilst walking around the pretty pedestrianised town centre. The bar was modernly furnished but on closer inspection one could see the building had great age. With murals and artifacts on the stone walls and vaulted ceilings. Very atmospheric! As were the displays on the landing and staircase up to the toilets. The Landlord/ barman was very jolly and spoke little English as its a locals sort of bar. Nice decent priced beers and the nearest thing to a 16th century bier keller in old kitzbuhel.

We stumb!ed upon this as we had been frequenting the apres bars by the main gondola and this is the other side of the town centre. The waiter was friendly. Good choice of drinks. Part heated and part undercover with background music. opposite the Londoner.

The Gasteigers have put real passion and hard work into creating this truly special small hotel. The only watch out is that access is by a 2 person chairlift that stops at 5pm .... but that is also part of the brilliance of this place. When the chair stops you find yourself totally isolated from bustling normality in this haven of tranquility and intimate comfort high above the clouds. The head chef Juergen is in my opinion a very gifted cook. Tyrolian dishes, perfectly seasoned, delightfully presented, sumptuously tasty. The staff are friendly and ... well just great. The wait staff, Lun and Ilya made our stay very enjoyable. I highly recommend Bichlalm, itâs a true treasure.
