congratulations! You have met real taverns!Nozawa life without JUGEMU is definitely boring.join us!
We stopped in here for dinner and were not disappointed: it was excellent. The gyoza were a highlight (fresh and delicious), and each of us had some delicious curry udon. The drinks and service were excellent too - a lovely evening, all around. Note that they seem to be cash-only.

Stopped in for lunch after visiting the monkeys. Much prefer this place. The food, beer and atmosphere are great. We had the dumplings, cucumbers, beef stew and best of all, the gorgonzola cheese cake. Who would have thought? Small portion but excellent. So was the affagado. The craft beer was very good as well. All this for Y5,000. Good service We will come back.

Burger&Steak!!!
Quite surprised there is no review for this place, so thought i would write one. The place is located on the east side (very near Nakao No Yu Onsen) of the village on the 2nd floor next to the popular Play Spot Bar on the first floor. Its got a lot of branding signage advertising 'best burgers in village'The joint itself is a bit of a student looking hangout (a bar, random furniture, karaoke stage and even a games console hook up) so admittedly our expectations weren't high and we were the only customers at the time. The 2 local guys were really friendly and welcoming though! Indeed the cute hand drawn menu was a very extensive burger menu (only 1 side in my pic but another whole page dedicated to just beef!) with the odd steaks in there.I ordered the shrimp burger and it was the best shrimp burger ive tasted! Big juicy shrimps in a nice crispy coating. We also ordered the bacon egg cheeseburger and the pattie was super juicy, smoky and the handmade buns were perfectly toasted! Very reasonable priced too.Def a place that shud get some more recognition! We went back last night to grab some takeaway burgers...a great craving midnight snack after some beers next door!
Stumbled on this cute place a bit out of the way but near post office precinct round the corner sort of. Get a map. My dish a dinner plate sized bowl containing an assortment of 3 slices of mini pizza, salad, 2 mini hotdog sausages, about half a cup of fries, little pot of Aussie style tomato sauce, a spoonful of potato salad. I appreciated the mix and was a nice change from Japanese food even though I'm a huge Asian food fan, teenage daughter loved her pizza which was bacon tomato cheese. (When I say 3 mini slices they really would compare to one big slice Aussie pizza). Only three tables inside each seats 4. Was another dad and 3 kids they were all smiling so must have been good. 1500 yen each plate so good value. Kid friendly food in funky cocktail setting with funky waiters. Very quirky but it works. I hope they get some more reviews as their food is deserving.

Since it had only been open two weeks (as I write this), it was hard to discover this restaurant (only one review on TA). That will change. Some of the best pizza Iâve had anywhere. Wonderful dough, delicious variety. We had the pepperoni, the spinach and the white sauce house special. Salads were a hit, as was the truffle edamame. Great atmosphere for families or couples. In a former parking garage.

A small linear bar which is crowded when patrons number greater than ten. This makes for a good atmosphere. The speciality is beer; there are about 6-8 on tap. Wine is available on request but extremely limited. The only red available during my visits was a Merlot. [If you have seen the movie "Sideways" you will know about Merlot] I tasted several beers over a couple of nights and enjoyed all. For a spot which is promoting their beers, I thought they were a bit expensive, over !000yen each [about $13AUD] when one can buy a can of Asahi for about 300yen.
