Reviews on Pizza food in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austrian Alps, Austria. In Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the hills are alive with the sound of happy travelers. Nestled in the Austrian Alps, it’s a skier’s dream, featuring a network of pistes and perfect powder. There’s plenty to do in the summer months, like hiking, mountain biking, geocaching or exploring the mountain forest from above, via a “treetop path” that’s a series of bridges, platforms and towers.

We were staying in a 4 star hotel with a five course dinner every night. Half way through our week we just fancied a slightly more relaxed and basic meal and this place fitted the bill. Centrally located, it is primarily a pizzeria but augments a selection of around 12/14 pizza choices with a few pasta dishes and some steak/chip options too. The Pizzas are obviously hand crafted bases baked in a traditional oven and easily overhang a large size dinner plate - maybe 12 inches across. Top price for a Pizza was Euro 9.20 and plenty are cheaper than this.Range of drinks on offer including wine by the glass and half litre for those that do not want a whole bottle.Tip- aim to arrive at or before 6.30 before the post après ski rush or be prepared to wait a while for a table to come available.

Without a doubt the worst pasta dish either of us have ever tasted. EVER. Pizza less than average - pickled chillies on the pizza like the ones you would find in a kebab. Wtaf. Clearly no Italians any where near this kitchen. Save your pennies. Buy pasta and pesto at the supermarket. (Husband thinks this review is no where near scathing enough)

In the THOMSN.Restaurant the first Rock Restaurant from the alps American Style you can roughly get pampered with homemade pizza, burger, steak and co, of course, all freshly prepared.
The pizza was ok, the staff was incompetent, lazy, avoided eye contact and above all, rude. After having been to restaurants in 30 different countries and worked in the hospitality business for over 20 years, this was simply the worst service experience we've ever had. No 'hello', no 'thank you', no smile, bluntly and unapologetically announcing that only pizza would be available (which is fine, but the tone and attitude were aggressive). There were two waiters, both were unfriendly and making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. To top it all off, after their hopelessly bad service the waiter not only expected a tip, but actually held back some of our change, as if they assumed that we're actually gonna reward them for their awful job.Really not recommended!Dear Jerome, what a pity that you did not like your stay at THOMSN. Sorry for the misunderstanding with the tip â we would have loved to clarify the situation directly. We hope that you nevertheless look back with nice memories as well. Kind Regards, Thomas & the whole Team

The food is excellent in this hotel and on the first night we both had a glass of wine. On the second night we didn't want wine as we had been drinking wine in the hotel listening to live music outside and I only wanted tap water but was told I couldn't have tap water unless we ordered something else !!!! Such a petty rule that spoils a lovely hotel. I will not be ordering any more alcohol for the whole week or sadly drinking it in the outside music area - so the hotel have basically ruined an enjoyable week by a petty minded rule of no tap water with food, surely it's a basic human requirement or at least it is in the U.K. So be warned !! No water unless you pay for it or a drink to have with it

The restaurant is downtown, before the pedestrian area. It has its own parking for the guests, which is good. The prices are above the average, however it also offer more stilish dishes. Tge food was tasty. The service was prompt. We had a nice evening.

Good Italian restaurant (missclasdified as pizzeria in TripAdvisor.)We enjoyed a very good dinner having Carpaccio for starter, (medium rare) steak with butter herb source and Irish Coffee for dinner. All were professionally prepared and perfect in addition to very friendly service and pleasant atmosphere! We were able ti get a table without a reservation by arriving already after 6 PM. Table reservation recommended. The phone number given by the TripAdviser app does not, however, work. The restaurant adviced to use there own net page instead for getting correct contact information to make a table reservationHope that TripAvisor is able to sort out the errors in the classification of the restaurant and the contact information asap!

Half way down the slope you'll find the Maisalm. Seated in the sun in a lounge set with an Apfelstrüdel with ice...difficult to get up and go again. I've heard good stories about their pizza's as well but we'll have to try that another time...friendly service as well..not to be forgotten. Hello from Saalbach!Thank you so much for your good feedback. We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed your skiing break in our restaurant and we are looking forward to welcome you in future, that you can enjoy our pizza :).Yours family Breitfuà & Team
