I really want to like this place. The nice atmosphere, unique variety on the menu, and friendly service I have experienced during multiple visits, has me wanting to give Pizza Lounge another chance. I ate dinner with a lady friend, then returned for lunch two weeks later with her for a second chance. Both visits were marked by missteps coming from the kitchen. Visit #1: A good friend chose Pizza Lounge for dinner for us, based on a friends recommendation. She enjoys a good pizza so we made are way to the shopping center in Laguna Niguel to check it out. Walking inside it was mostly a dark decor with a massive u shaped bar dividing the dinning room. Flat screen TVs showed various sporting events (thankfully the sound was muted & the CC on). We were promptly seated by the manager. Let him know this was our first visit resulted in a offer of a complimentary appetizer choice between Hot Wings or the Hummus Plate. NICE!!We chose the Hummus that could satisfy a party of four that tasted fresh with soft pita bread bits to load up with, along with chopped cucumber and tomatoes, greek olives, and feta, YUM !! We ordered the smaller version of the Caesar Salad they have listed with the sides at only six bucks that was plenty and wow, this really impressed. Generous shaved parmesan slices, on fresh romaine greens, all lightly tossed in dressing that didn't overwhelm with "PERFECT" croutons. These light airy seasoned melt in my mouth cubes from heaven had me declaring this one hands down "first prize". (Nothing ruins a Caesar more than rock hard/store bought croutons. Bravo for this Pizza lounge. I had the Sauteed Salmon, and she decided on the Baseball Cut Sirloin. (No pizza tonight). Keeping all of the entrees just under twenty dollars is a smart move, since none a served with soup or salad. My salmon was was perfectly cooked laid on top of the mashed potatoes and served with fresh long green beans and carrot sticks. All bathing in a creamy saffron sauce. The portions were ample and well balanced. This was a delight and recommended for seafood lovers. The Steak was unfortunately a different matter. Ordering "medium rare" resulted in the fillet coming to the table under-cooked. Our waitress Lindsay apologized and returned the dish to the kitchen only to come back still under-cooked. Frustrated she came back this time with the cut "butterflied" by the kitchen resulting in part medium well (same piece of meat) the other OK, but dry. Lindsay took the steak off the bill right away as someone who knows how to salvage the evening with her awesome service, that included an ever present smile and cheerful disposition despite the situation. She also kept our beverages refilled while dealing with some other tables. The Passion Tea they serve here is very good, not too fruity. Pluses earned here. Opting for the Chocolate Mousse, it came in a tall narrow glass with sliced berries on top the whipped cream. It had good flavor and was denser than usual, not enough to really share. Wanted to go with the souffle' but didn't want to wait the customary twenty minutes, er wait they don't mention this on the menu, what is the reason for this omission? Precooking evolved? Say it isn't so! Overall, Lindsay your server, went way above and beyond to compensate for the inability of the kitchen staff to execute the only steak on the menu. Her effort earned Pizza Lounge a return visit from us. Please give her the accolades she deserves!

This is a great local spot to take the gang after soccer or baseball games. Lots of TVs, plenty of seating, decent pizza at a reasonable price, beer on tap and coin operated games for the kids.

While we do eat Z pizza on a fairly regular basis, I have to say it could be better. The crust is fairly good, the toppings could be better. If they were better, I would give it 4 circles

My wife and I tried the Blaze Pizza on La Paz, and the one in the Mission Viejo Mall. We could not believe how good it was. You go down a Subway-type line picking out everything from the dough to the toppings. No extra charge for as many toppings as you want. The next surprise was how quickly it was ready -- about 3 minutes. The fire inside the oven is generated by gas, but the taste was off the charts. I don't know why I spend time with anywhere else. Price for each 11" pie is under $9.

My co-workers and I ate at Mod Pizza for lunch. We each ordered their small pizza. You can create your own pizza using as much or as little toppings as you would like. I had my first experience with a gluten free bbq chicken pizza which was okay. I think if the gluten free crust was fresh then maybe it would have tasted differently. My co-workers enjoyed their specially handcrafted pizza. I am not sure if I will return to Mod Pizza because there are so many other pizza places in my area.

So, this is a local favorite. Their pizza's are huge. A popular pizza is their Mediterranean Greek gourmet which has all the flavors that please your palette and make you want more. Meat is not necessary for this pizza, it's so good! For a small personal pizza, their white cheese is excellent. Simple, tasty, flavorful. We love their meat pies, but if you're looking for non-meat they actually have a great selection. I suggest you try their variety of pizza by the slice and try something new. I have to say we've even taken to some potluck type parties their Garlic Knots with marinara sauce on the side, arranged on a platter in the shape of a tree. Great for holiday Christmas parties. The Antipasto Salad w/olive oil dressing is a filling salad and or dinner dish, especially during warm summer days when cooking or heavy foods are just a bit much. This is always a hit for outdoor pool party gatherings! We also really enjoy their Calzones. Our favorites are the make-your-own as they are filled with goodness and always served with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping each bite. We have out-of-town guests that often request when in the area. The Italian sub is also another of our favorites to order on-the-go and take for a picnic at the amazing local parks in the area, or the beach and harbor which is 10 minutes away. Tip: have them toast the bread so it stays longer (bread doesn't get so soggy if not eating right away), especially if picnic boating at Dana Point marina.Eating at this location is okay as it's very casual dining. Seating inside is fine. Staff is friendly. They are located inside a small strip mall set-up. Parking is quick and easy as most locals get their orders to go. It's family neighborhood friendly, as many locals run into this spot and love to "chat" while hanging out waiting for their orders. They are really good about timeliness on your call in pick-up orders, which is hugely important for event parties. The local market is in the same parking lot for that last minute party supply run and then get your pizza. Absolutely recommend this place, even if I want to be stingy in sharing about this place. I realize I want them to stay in business for a very long time! They are freeway close (12-15 min from 5 fwy south) and they're Beach and Dana Point Harbor close (10 min. away off Golden Lantern to PCH) as well. Date Night Tip: Pick up order of Calzones (expect about 15-20 min. once order is placed) before heading out for an outdoor picnic bench meal (requires a fork and knife to eat with, make sure you get with your order, you'll need to sit at a table for this) take a votive candle/small tablecloth/wine and glasses and boom, you've got dinner at the island marina! Then, go for a relaxing stroll around the island...Nothing better than California outdoor living style any day of the week!
