The â3 Fursâ is âcountry friendly with an edgeâ. Our menu offers selection of our chefs take on much-loved pub grub and a taste of contemporary Kiwi food, with a focus on fresh local produce and seafood. Family friendly is what we are, we welcome you to c
Decided to try something new and we were pleasantly surprised. A friendly and helpful team. Simple pub fare but very well cooked and presented. Care obviously taken. Chef even did my fish pan fried - most pubs wouldnât support this. Not a massive menu but a great selection that would appeal to all. Iâd happily pop in here again.

Went there twice for breakfast and enjoyed the experience. Coffee was good, food too and the ambience relaxed. The wait might be longer than expected, though. Also visited for dinner, which was somewhat disappointing. The mulled wine special was undrinkable, the food mediocre. Substitutions to the food had been made from what the menu stated, and this caused allergy issues. Very hectic and disorganized service made us leave in a hurry.
Enjoy fine coffee, Devonshire teas and old-fashioned delights.
This place is located in the Mangawhai Museum and as such is a great accompanying feature for a visit followed by lunch or pastries. Despite being a small cafe the food is superb by way of what can only be described as gourmet sandwiches, backed up by pies and a good selection of cakes and pastries. I would certainly recommend the tuna sandwich which is bursting with delicious flavour. Service is good and the tea is served in proper china with leaves rather than teabags.

Very generous servings, really pleasant staff, reasonable prices, great view! Make sure you book on long weekends, or over the summer break. Only gripe would be the lack of atmosphere and decor in the main dining area, has no soul.

Perhaps the note on the cash register advertising for a Barista should have warned me. Being a chocolate factory I thought a mocha was a good idea. I couldnât have been more wrong. Insipid weak coffee and lack of chocolate flavour. The savoury scone continued the disappointment.

A modern New Zealand restaurant with a twist on the classic KIWI BBQ. Sharing is the name of the game and you can order as much or as little as you like. Choose from the smoker, the grill, the rotisserie or the wood fired pizza oven for your protein and a
Sunday lunch with friends, sat outside in the sun, lovely lively atmosphere, busy, most tables full. Waited for waitress, and waited and waited!! Finally went indoors and got out own drinks and asked for menu. Sat with drinks and waited for menus, and waited and waited!!! Finally ordered food and the main course arrived and was good, no problems with the food at all, good quality, hot, tasty, brilliant. Dishes not cleared away, no menus for desserts. We thought they must have a staff shortage, we went in to pay and found all the staff sat around the table inside all having lunch!!!!!!!!!

For the money this was not great value and we felt the place may be overrated due to lack of real competition in the area. Service was friendly and competent. The food was underwhelming but okay. We both chose the skirt steak as our main course. The steaks themselves were okay but the accompanying vegetables were quite disappointing; not delicious. The wine list was okay â we enjoyed a bottle of red with our steaks. We were expecting something better.
