The best time to visit Koonthankulam is Jan to Feb. The reservoir is flocked with these exotic migratory birds such as pelicans. Its not a crowded place and you don't find much shops around to pick some snack. Pack and take your food. If you are a ardent bird watcher or not it doesn't matter the moment you see these bird you will fall in love with this place
