Port Robinson Park

It was a hot day when I arrived at this park. I was a bit astonished to find several children playing on the playground and at the Splash Pad. They loved the Splash Pad more, as they spent more time there. There was also a baseball field. It was too hot to play baseball. I liked the willows. There were many of them. As I was leaving, a large cargo ship passed by. That was cool! Worthwhile to experience!

Short Hills Provincial Park

First and foremost, it's wrongly named. There is nothing short about some of the hills. Trail markings are inadequate, as is the signage. Trail distances are shown as "as the crow flies", not as if the crow is walking, carrying a pack. Some very challenging terrain. Loved it.

Weekends can get very busy when the weather is nice . Try to come during the week to avoid this . Beautiful spring fed pond and a few relatively easy hiking trails vary in length from about 20 minutes to 45 minutes .Nice place to spend a couple hours.

Mel Swart Lake Gibson Conservation Park

I like this Mel Swart Lake Gibson Conservation Park. Yes it has a long name, but it is a place for hiking and nature. We hiked and had fun. There were trees. Cool! I enjoyed also the birds on the Gibson Lake. We hiked to the highest part of the park. There are bridges in this park. What a great place. A must see!
