The memorial is beautiful and informative. People regularly leave flowers and coins as offerings to the people in the memorial, which is lovely to see.

We were in Salem for a day while vacationing in the Boston area and we stumbled upon this park. It was a mild day in late November and was perfect for the couple hours we spent walking the area and taking beautiful pictures just before dusk. I could have spent many more hours there just sitting listening to the gentle waves splash against the rocks while taking in all the tranquil views.

Forest River Park

If you're up for a walk, it's only a little over a mile from town. Not only is it right beside Pioneer Village, but it's got a nice little walking path along the rolling hills, waterside access, park benches galore to take in the pretty view, and a small kiddie park. It's a perfect place to pack a picnic (weather-depending), and above all, it's a nice, quiet get away from all of the tourists and traffic congestion.

A great piece of American Maritime history! Was not able to climb aboard at the moment of my visit, but nonetheless I've thoroughly enjoyed walking around and reading the posted info about imports and the exports to and from the colonies. Definitely worth seeing, even from the shore!

Don't miss how they have it lit up in October! Great place for a stroll on a nice autumn day. Dog friendly, too.
