Experience the wild salmon! Namsen Salmon Aquarium is situated by the Queen of rivers - river Namsen in Grong municipality Nord-Trondelag county, approximately 15 km north of Grong city. The aquarium offers experiences for the eye, ear and mouth - who knows, you might even learn something! At the Aquarium you can experience salmon, trout and the special very Nams-blank at close range. In the large fish tank both large and smaller salmon are swimming. Only the glass separate you and the king of fishes! The aquarium is situated by the wild Fiskumfoss waterfall, where more than one million litres of water cascades down the waterfall every second when the water level is high. River Namsen is called the “queen of rivers”. English and German salmon lords and barons has been coming to fish for generations. In the fishing and salmon exhibition at the museum we try to disseminate knowledge about the Namsen fishing history. The exhibition consists of both old and new fishing gear. Vaeremsfeltet is an old settlement from the old Iron Age. Vaeremsfeltet consists of old grave mounds, building sites in ring formation and old cooking sites. Just few metres from the Vaeremsfeltet there’s a small “cabin” in witch you can sit down and enjoy the view and your lunch. If you contine down the pretty steep path towards the river, there’s a nice hiking route past Vaerem Farm and back to Bergsmo and the parking area.
