Båstad is a locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July. It's municipality follows a similar pattern. Some 15,000 permanent residents but more than 30,000 during July. Some villages within the municipality almost empty during the winter, but have more than a 2,000 "summer guests" during July. Take a stroll in the park, experience the wonderful gardens, play in the park with the kids or grab something to eat in the restaurant. A magnificent landscape with high cliffs above the sea, moore walks, and a remarkable pebble beach. Take a swim if weather permits. And have a piqniq with a view!

We walked around Båstad and came down to the water. Very pleasant area. Nice to see all boats. We found a lot of restaurants around here.

The nature reserve Grevie backar is an exciting place to visit all year around. Entering the reserve feels like getting into the landscape of the hobbits in “the Lord of the Ring”. Green rolling hills surround you. There is a short hiking trail of 3 km which is perfect for a walk with children. In mid-April you can see the protected pasqueflower.
