The mission of the Arts Council is to nurture and strengthen the artistic, cultural, and educational quality of the community and surrounding area. We are dedicated to raising awareness in the region through our community art events and venues. The Arts Council is comprised of two historic buildings: The Kemp and The Forum. The buildings are official Texas historical and Wichita Falls landmarks. The Kemp (1300 Lamar Street) was built in 1917 as a public library. In 1998 the derelict building was leased to the Arts Council and currently the building and grounds house 5 gallery exhibit spaces, three classrooms and an auditorium. Guests, patrons and students from across Texas and Oklahoma come to The Kemp and The Forum to enjoy live entertainment and performances, local and national visual arts exhibitions, and outstanding arts education classes.

Wasn't sure sure what to expect was real surprised when we came in. The museum includes lots of memorabilia from the history of professional wrestling. Had lots from the golden age before WWE. The admission was reasonable as well. You will spend about an hour and be entertained the whole time. There are toys, costumes and other memorabilia. Definitely worth a visit even if professional wrestling is not your bag. The staff is also very helpful. Recommend you go.

I've been going to the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University from time to time over the years and finally got around to writing a proper review. I should note that I go there for both events hosted with several organizations and to enjoy some art exhibits. The layout of the museum portion is quite impressive, leaving quite a bit more floor space for larger exhibits that don't hang on walls. There are, of course, walls for the hanging arts, including additional exhibit halls. The staff there is also very helpful and friendly too.
