This is a hidden gem inside the Power Plant building near downtown. Once inside you welcome the transformation into restaurant. Service is good, at times a bit rushed, but still good. But we will return for the food even if the service wasn't so good. I loved the Shrimp tacos, my wife likes to try a bit of everything.

The food was horrible--both in presentation and taste! The chips and salsa weren't even good. It was like someone dumped canned tomatoes in a bowl, but it had no flavor. The service was mediocre at best. My husband had oxygen and they took us to the other side of the restaurant even though there was closer seating available. The only halfway decent thing we had were the margaritas, which were over priced.

As other reviewers have reported, this place has changed hands, so after a recommendation from a neighbor we tried it out for lunch today. Still a great location - shaded picnic tables outside, ping pong and other outdoor games, also indoor seating, a deep porch with rockers - something for everyone. That's true of the food, too. I wasn't sure I'd find anything I wanted, as I'm not a big Mexican fan, but their tacos aren't traditional Mexican fare, and I heard them agree to a cheese quesadilla (a family with kids) so there are choices. They offer a huge bowl of mac-n-cheese to which you can add any meat (shrimp, short ribs, beef, bacon) vegetables or sauce for an extra charge - I added the bacon and it was plenty of freshly cooked, tasty bacon (not bits) and the portion so large I brought some home.Hubby enjoyed a flight of 4 7oz. beers for $9 and 3 different taco choices (grilled chicken, short ribs, and spicy Cheetos) which he said were all good. We also their dessert, which is served as a burrito. They had 3 types - s'mores, fluffer nutter, and salted caramel. They also offered a salad, or chips with your choice of dips, so it's not accurate to say they ONLY serve tacos. Especially since the tacos aren't what you expect of tacos, with refried beans and salsa - they're little meals served on a soft flour taco shell as opposed to on a plate or between 2 pieces of bread. The food inside the taco is not representative of traditional tacos, but of any type of meal you'd get anywhere - grilled shrimp, short ribs, etc.Everyone who served us (3 different people over the course of our meal) was friendly and helpful, they're well set up to host large groups or families with kids or those just looking to drink - they should do really well in this location. We'll be back!

We've eaten here several times, and while I'm not a big fan of Mexican food in general, my husband enjoys it and this place has an extensive menu. The queso cheese is a nice (paid) addition to the salsa and chips served before your meal, and at our recent visit this weekend there was a bowl of avacados and lime on each table, with the server offering to have fresh guacamole prepared tableside.A nice addition this week (the day before Mother's Day, so maybe not a permanent addition to their selection - but I sure hope so!) was a Bahama Mama (fruity alcoholic drink) for $4.99. It was tasty, a good size, and at $5 a great price. We'll be back!

Chicoâs has good food at reasonable prices, a fun and friendly atmosphere, children are welcome, and if you go out on the balcony, you can throw your chips over the rail for the turtles to eat! There are so many turtles! And the fried ice cream is to die for!

Traveling through with my daughter. I was crazing Mexican food...in Rocky Mount. Hmmm...We were very pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food was so good. We each ordered fajitas. We could have split one order. I also had a margarita. I'd go back.
