Dazzle your taste buds at Mama Roja Mexican Kitchen. Restaurant enthusiasts will agree that Mama Roja boasts the best border-style Mexican cuisine Oklahomans have tasted.
We were visiting family and they brought us here for lunch. Carne asada was tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Beer was cold. Chips and salsa, with queso, were fresh. Fajitas were good also. Glad we came. A bit on the pricey side is the only downside.

We had a very enjoyable dinner here. We started with one of their queso offerings with guacamole and infused with chorizo. Delicious tortilla chips accompany this starter. We also enjoyed a featured cocktail called the 1492 Especial. Refreshing Citrus Lime and vodka. For dinner we sampled their shrimp skewer perfectly prepared tender and fresh. The rice was lacking slightly.

We love to go to Abuelo's. The atmosphere is inviting. The food is wonderful. If you do not belong to their rewards program you are missing out. We always get a free meal on our birthdays and anniversary. The waitresses and waiters are always very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu.

I normally am critical of Tex Mex as not being Mexican enough. Abueloâs is an exception. I sat at the bar and the bar tender and locals helped me pick pout my dinner. The enchiladas were great....as were the mashed potatoes. Not a great selection of tequila but a couple of good ones. Highly recommend. Chips and three salsas were very good also.

Cynthia was our server and we had a pretty big table of friends and she took very good care of us. We have never eaten here before and we were expecting the same ole Mexican food but were surprised that the food was not the typical Mexican fare. Some interesting options on the menu and overall the food was good and service was A++

Serving friend and family a delicious meal in your home is deeply embedded in Mexican culture. With that in mind, Ted Curtis, our founder, set out to create a welcoming restaurant inspired by that experience. We are rooted in serving the best Mexican food
We had a large group that was seated without much delay and were provided with great service. We had drinks, lots of the chips with salsa and cheese dip (great having both), and good guacamole then everyone at the table tried something different. There was no problem splitting up the checks and that can be a problem with groups at many restaurants. We will be back!

I live in Tucson, where we have great Mexican and Southwestern restaurants in dozens of styles of regional Mexican cuisine. I would classify Tedâs as Tex-Mex or border style and, unfortunately, many places that serve this fare cut corners and disappoint. Tedâs does it perfectly. They obviously use quality ingredients and prepare the dishes skillfully. The portions are generous and the complementary chips and salsa should come with a warning: If you are used to chips from a bag and salsa from a jar, you will not be able to resist Tedâs homemade and risk filling up before you get your meal.Your review just made our day, Peter! Thank you so much for coming to give our restaurant a try and for taking a moment to leave this great review. We work hard to make all of our dishes from scratch and with bold, fresh flavor. Hopefully, you'll be in Oklahoma City again soon so you can try even more of what we have to offer. Our fresh chips, salsa, and tortillas will be waiting!Have a great day,Ted's Management
