Went here and ordered cheese and onion enchiladas. The food was bland and tasteless. THe salsa was akin to bland tomato paste. The refried beans were runny and bland. The rice was white and tasteless. There were hardly any ingredients in my enchiladas. Only earned one star. I gave them two because the waitress and the manager showed concern at how I perceived their food. Not good at all. Looking for good Mexican food in Manitowoc is a futile quest.

I'll start out by saying that we really like the food at this restaurant. We've been here twice. The first time our choices were limited because the kitchen was being fine tuned. The second time was on a Friday night and the place was a bit overwhelmed by the crowd. There were two waitresses who were, for all intents and purposes, useless. The woman who was the hostess and ran the cash register did most of the work. The two waitresses spent their time zipping back and forth and avoiding or ignoring eye contact. I was tempted to give the place a three star rating; but they are having growing pains; and the food is really good. Probably the best Mexican food in Manitowoc (that, in itself, is not saying much). They do have a salsa bar, which is a nice touch. My feeling is that once they get the kinks ironed out and winnow their wait staff, this will be a great place to have some decent Mexican food.

I have visited Taco Bell in Manitowoc several times and each time am amazed by the poor service. The food is usually regular Taco Bell that is difficult to mess up. On one occasion I waited 10 minutes for a bean burrito and soft taco, with only one person in the drive thru in front of me at 11 pm. Do not go anytime of day or night if under time constraints.

I had been driving past this "hole in the wall" for years. Yesterday I decided to try it out because of good reviews on Tripadvisor. The wait staff is superb! They can answer any questions about the food. I got a veggie burrito. My only complaint was that it was HUGE! If you are a vegetarian they will accommodate you by making any dish to your desires. Their salsa had a very satisfying kick to it. I rarely have soft drinks; but I ordered a coke. No watered down fountain drink here, It was served in an ice cold bottle brewed in Mexico. No aspartame or high fructose corn syrup. It tasted like coca cola used to. It's small but tastefully decorated. Way better than that other (to be unnamed) recently opened Mexican restaurant. My search for decent Mexican food in Manitowoc may be over. This is my go to from now on. Viva El Alamo!

When my wife and I are too busy to cook, Qdoba is our to go destination. The food is consistently good, albeit the portions are huge. Their burritos are actually too big. QdobA is superior to the usual fast food glorp. As we are vegetarians a Qdoba is always a welcome sight when we are on the road. When you are travelling, skip the cheap burgers and seek out a Qdoba's. The food will be much better for you.

We started with a few Margaritas and our bar tender was Manuel, he did an excellent job, fast and friendly. You get warm chips and salsa that goes great with the margaritas. We ordered our meal at the bar and in 10 minutes your meal is at your table. Both our dishes were fresh and very tasty. Once again our server Manuel was spot on with his service. The prices are very reasonable and both of us were very satisfied. Give La Carreta up.

We recently moved to Manitowoc so we thought we'd try this El Tequila location and I'd have to say the restaurant in Shawano is better. The service at this location is lacking and very slow. Plus it's always nice when other Mexicans tell a fellow Mexican how they should be ordering their food (insert eyeroll) Big turn off, plus, your Americanized Mexican food isn't that good in the first place so don't lecture your customers on how something should be done. Far better Mexican restaurants in the area.
