At Taco John's®, we serve traditional Mexican food-with a twist. By fusing bold American flavors with south-of-the-border spice, we've defined our signature menu. From our trademark Potato Olés® and freshly prepared tacos to our infamous breakfast burrito
Taco John's was a standard for us for many years but our Taco John closed so when we spotted this we stopped for lunch. Oh, the soft shelled taco was terrific and my husband loved his burrito and olds. The service here was with a smile. The cashier took time to make you feel like your were special. This was a clean place. With the road construction we are glad we stopped as it was easy to get on and off. Would stop here again to get my "fix."

Our friends enjoy this place, but we always come away disappointed...Salsa's is so much better for authentic mexican, five times better service (it took us over 20 minutes to get drinks, and then another 20 to get any food and some orders came our wrong or cold). There are lots of choices on this menu, prepared adequately, but not as authentic as we get in Mexico or most other places in town even. We've learned to bite the bullet and go along with our friends, who all like man other mexican restaurants in town, but they like the location and big margarita's...for us, we'd pass any time.

They closed the one down in my hometown so I was happy to see they were still open in Dubuque. The food is always good regardless of what the "it's not authentic" snobs say. Very reasonably priced and always filling... Nice attentive staff.

My mom took us to this place the first night we arrived in town for a visit. We may be a little spoiled living in Texas, but Mexican food should be good no matter where it is. All of our food was very bland and seemed cheap â not fresh or homemade tasting. I ate less than half of mine. And the waiter didn't seem overjoyed to serve us from the beginning, plus when he spoke we could barely understand him. Once the food was served, he never came back to check on us again. Would not recommend.

This is a restaurant that immediately upon leaving makes you think of the next time you could return. The staff is just superb and the food was first-class. I had dinner with three other people and each raved about their choices. One caution--the iced tea is nearly tasteless.

We stopped at Adobos Mexican Grill for a lunch burrito and a couple of $5.00 margaritas. The food was very good, as the burritos were muy grande. The staff was friendly. The prices are reasonable.

Recently stopped in for quick bite for two, on weekend around 2pm. Seated promptly and served chips and salsa, which was excellent. Ordered 2 margaritas, wasn't asked what size we wanted, and were served their $1.99 specials which tasted fine. We stated we would share an order of quesadillas grande. Meal was served, hot and tasty, but with only 1 plate. Never had water re-filled, salsa re-filled, or asked if we needed another cocktail. Not expecting 4 star service, but some basic follow up should be expected.
