petit parking juste devant petite terrasse et petite salle 25 personnes.L'accueil est souriant décontracté et attentif.J'ai déja participé à un repas de groupe il y a quelques temps dans cet établissement et la je reviens seul.Le patron propose les plats préparés en traiteur et vous avez donc le choix avec 3 entrées 5 ou 6 plats et 3 desserts.Le tout est frais fabriqué sur place.La quantité est suffisante et il y a du goût.Les lasagnes sont super...Je reviendrai...

We came across this restaurant by chance when looking for somewhere for lunch. Attracted by the menu we went in and are glad we did. A little different from an average French menu with some morrocan dishes and some which I suspect are the chef's invention and all the better for it. Starters of asparagus with shrimps and deep fried prawns encased in angel hair vermicelli with a were particularly good. You can eat in a pleasant room or in the courtyard. Friendly service.

Very accessible as it is close to a free parking area in the centre of town. Typically French, in the best sense. Service is friendly and professional. Food whether plat du jour or à la carte is reasonably priced and nicely cooked. Seafood available.

We went for dinner on the second night after the restaurant opened. The menu is limited but everything we had was delicious. The focus is on locally sourced ingredients and the execution is sophisticated with a certain savoir faire which distinguishes Le Bastion from the other restaurants in Lagrasse. The renovation of the building is lovely and the upstairs dining room will be very attractive in colder times. They also have an outdoor terrace for the summer. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Traditional yet innovative French cuisine at an affordable price in a pleasant quiet setting. Very good selection of local wines. We also speak English, German and Spanish - on top of French!
Another visit to our friends in France and a welcome return to La Petite Auberge. Our first visit was in the evening and once again the meal was excellent . We had the option of two menus which allowed us lots of choices. I had lamb shank for my main course and it was so tasty and succulent. The portion would have served two people so they allowed me to take the remainder home (our friend's cat thought it was wonderful too!). I felt bad about not finishing it (sorry Ludwig and Marie) but I had to leave space for dessert which was Marie's chocolate and pear gateau with vanilla ice cream. Superb. I didn't leave any at all! One of the great things about La Petite Auberge is the little extras they bring out such as frozen grapes in custard served in coffee cups. Lovely! We returned a few days later for lunch and this time I chose chicken which was a substitute option to replace an item they had sold out of - remember the early bird gets the worm - but it was the most succulent chicken breast I had ever eaten. Moist and tasty served in a creamy sauce, I didn't mop the sauce up with bread but I was tempted to do so. All in all the Auberge is a place worth a visit, you will not be disappointed (unless it is a Monday when they are closed!). We visited this restaurant for lunch a total of 5 times during a 3-week stay in the Corbieres region and we can say with some confidence that it is one of the best in the region. No, it does not have any Michelin stars (yet!) unlike a nearby restaurant in Fontjoncouse, but for value and quality for money it is unrivalled. The set lunch @ â¬15.00 which includes starter, main, dessert and tea/coffee has to be one of the best bargains in France. No, there is no choice, you either take the set lunch menu or move up to one of the other menus at â¬22 or â¬28 (which are also great). We had the â¬28 menu on one occasion but it was the â¬15.00 menu on the other four visits that was the star for us. Presentation is simple but thoughtful and the ingredients are superb. I had never had spider steak before as it is a cut that is uncommon outside of France, but the steaks that we enjoyed as part of the lunch menu, served simply with potatoes crushed with olive oil, were among the best steaks I have ever eaten. The restaurant itself is a large nicely appointed room with local art on display and there is a shaded terrace for outdoor eating when the weather is fine. Bathrooms were clean and modern.It is hard to criticize the restaurant but there are a couple of things they might think about. The first is whether techno/electro music is appropriate as background music for this restaurants clientele and set and setting. Also, although we had been served by the same waitress 5 times (and she was very pleasant) she made no indication that she remembered us from previous visits (despite the fact that my wife was wearing a sling). It would have been nice to meet the chef(s) who had prepared our wonderful lunches and found out a little about their philosophy/inspiration.Hopefully some of the pictures I post will do justice to the food. This is a restaurant that is worth driving out of your way to get to - you won't regret it.
