Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Bay of Plenty Region. The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a large bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east, a wide stretch of some 259 km of open coastline. The Bay of Plenty Region is situated around this body of water, also incorporating several large islands in the bay. The bay was named by James Cook after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Māori villages there, in stark contrast to the earlier observations he had made in Poverty Bay.

Visited a week ago early evening as an alternative to our usual perchance for lighter fare and was pleasantly surprised. We had a few dishes in succession and particularly enjoyed the steak, which was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and not obtrusive and as it was our first visit, it was nice to experience some relatively authentic Italian dishes. Would have rated higher except for the shrimp cocktail, which definitely needs a revamp, including fresh house cocktail sauce and better quality shrimps. My only criticism as we would recommend and return.

We wondered in on a Saturday night looking for a table for two. The Barman did say they were full but had us sit down at the bar while he looked for a table. We were given a table up stairs by the window. Wonderful setting. Very Italian and the food was very tasty. We chose a bottle of Shiraz which was also wonderful. One of the best Italian meals we have had. The veal Marsala was devine. Thank you for making our night wonderful. We are so glad you enjoyed your meal here with us ! Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate

Imperfetto is a small authentic Italian pizzeria. Pizza is made in the traditional italian way, baked in a wood fire oven served with a big side of love.
We had 2 pizzas - both had tasty well cooked bases, toppings were excellent - the Italian sausage was delicious, good quality salami, tasty olives and a tomato sauce with real flavour...and it wasn't over cheesed so it was pizza as it should be. Nice people too.

We took TripAdvisorâs recommendation and went here for dinner on one night of our stay in Rotorua. It did not disappoint! The menu was varied with lots of options, the food came out quickly despite the little restaurant being almost full, and it was tasty. Service was brilliant.

I went there after seeing all the fantastic reviews. However, I found it to be pretty average. The salad and sauces were good, but the meat tasted like the sausage meat(fluffy with a taste of fillers, etc.). I ordered the kebab with lamb filling. I like kebabs because I believe them to be relatively healthier compared to the other eat outs. However, I never came across meat( lamb/chicken) in a kebab which was of a sausage quality, which was disappointing. I gave my experience three stars because of the customer service, hygiene and the fresh salad that I liked!
