I am Celiac so you need to ask a lot of questions. They did ok, but really needed to clarify. All of their spicy choices come with crunch in the mix, thus not ok. Discussion started out that spicy was ok, only had to avoid things with soy as they use Kikkoman which had gluten. They had GF soy in a different container however for the table - you need to ask for it. They served everything family style so they mixed my GF ordered items with the other items from the table. Higher risk of cross contamination. I did not have a bad experience here in the GF front. Sushi was ok. Better choices in this area however.

My friend and I ordered edamame, kani salad as well as classic salmon sushi and a newfangled crab salad sushi. The salmon sushi was outstanding...everything else left something to be desired. The crab salad and sushi were too mayonnaise, the edamame well undercooked and the virgin cocktails we had just tasted of artificial lime flavor. Ugh...our server was very friendly and welcoming though.
Sushi, japanese cuisine
Kai is a small Asian/Japanese grill similar to hundreds you will find in Tokyo. It offers quite a variety of dishes and not just Sushi; they have nicely grilled Yakitori, rice and noddle dishes as well. This is a family restaurant in the early evening, so making a reservation is recommended. If you are dining later in the evening, reservations are less of an issue. They also offer very nice selection of Saki at reasonable prices, so all in all, a very nice neighborhood restaurant.Cheers

Our first visit to Kai was just okay. Two recent visits confirmed that they have upped their game. From the pot stickers to the sushi rolls everything is well prepared. Service is amazingly fast for a fresh sushi restaurant. My favorite is the steak fried rice. But everything is good. Last dinner included shrimp and vegetable tempura. Lightly battered without any hint of deep fry grease. A solid five for dining in or take out. Reservations are a good idea on weekends.
Come by your local Noodles & Company at 1179 Wayzata Blvd East, , Wayzata where its globally inspired dishes including noodles, soups and salads, come together to create a World Kitchen.
Our food was satisfactory, but not served promptly. Cleanliness was a problem as carpet and some of the tables were dirty. Service was friendly and offered an apology for service being slow. (I ordered pork and they apparently were not ready for pork orders!)The air conditioning was turned on too high causing a draft. We tried a couple different locations, but it didn't make any difference. We found the temperature to be uncomfortably cool and breezy. We also have a Noodles in Plymouth. We are more impressed with that location and will go there in the future.

We love Sakana for its sushi, its entrees and the good service. Sea bass was excellent, as was the tuna poke as well as the Sakana Roll. So lucky to have this wonderful sushi spot in Wayzata!

The place has become our favorite Sushi Restaurant, because of the extensive menu choices and great Sake assortment. He had Dylan for a server this time and he was great! I LOVE the Unagi Bowl. We will be back!
