Discover Restaurants offering the best Japanese food in Giverny, France. Thank Claude Monet for making this small village, located less than 50 miles northwest of Paris, a global landmark. Not only did the world-famous Impressionist painter live here for over four decades, but his Japanese-inspired garden (and the artist’s restored 19th century home) remain must-see attractions for visitors to France. Art lovers also will want to check out the Musée des Impressionnismes, which houses—as you’d expect—a collection of paintings and special exhibitions highlighting the Impressionist movement. Great for day trippers visiting from Paris, Giverny also offers bed-and-breakfast lodging for those travelers who want to spend the night.

The buffet has a great selection of choice, and the quality is good. People working there are very nice. However, they are very slow to replenish the dishes which are often empty.

Actually didn't eat here. Did a search for Chinese Restaurants near our hotel in Ploemel. Mandarin Garden turned up. Trip Advisor said it was 10K away. The directions from Trip Advisor led us to a small farmhouse in a small village. We did a new search on Yelp. It took us another 12K away to an intersection in another village. NO Mandarin Garden. Our native French speaking friend called the restaurant for directions. He couldn't understand the man who answered the phone. We found out later that the St Marcel where this is located was a 4 hour drive!

Where to eat Diner food in Giverny: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We decided to dine here because it had good reviews, but it wasn't even slightly good. We were the only customers and it took absurdly long to get our food and had to ask for the check twice. I think they overloaded their take out orders and didn't know how to manage this. Regardless, unacceptable to leave your only 2 customers with horrible service. The food was only mediocre. The maguro was a pale pink color and a bit flavorless. The salad was NOT what was pictured on their menu, instead of actual lettuce, it too was colorless cabbage with rice vinegar dressing. The miso soup and the gyoza were the best things we ordered, but I would prefer the raw fish be the best thing ordered at a sushi restaurant.

The miso soup is flavourful. The sushi is fresh and tastes great. A great meal at a fair price. Highly recommended!

I love to go to this place for years now! Food is always good and they propose a wide-range selection of dishes for their All You Can Eat menu (sushi, sashimi, maki, yakitori, other warm dishes and deserts). However, this selection is not the same, and sometimes I would like to find a dish that I used to have the previous time. If something is not currently moving on the conveyor belt, you can ask directly the waiter to have it. Service has always been great, people are very responsive and smiling to customers.
