Things to do in Montanita
Want to go to a relaxing restaurant for some great authentic Ecuadorian and Italian food. Have a few cocktails or beers just feet from the ocean.
Nos caracteriza la atención argentina y los sabores únicos de nuestros platos, para deleitar a los mas exigentes paladares
This place is truly the hidden gem of montañita. $5 for most entrees and $1/$1.50 for apps. Incredible flavors and presentation...I would have expected to pay >$10 for everything. It's all presented on wooden boards with amazing homemade sauces and the freshest ingredients. The owner/chef is so passionate about everything he creates. He cooks outside so you can really get to know him. He'll explain all the flavors to you in awesome detail, so you get really excited about everything you eat. To top it off, everything is so healthy! We became so obsessed with this place, we are there 4 nights in a row so we could try everything on the menu!
Dis Fruta will be serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We will be specializing in American Italian & Ecuadorean food! Dis Fruta se sirve desayuno, almuerzo y cena. Vamos a estar especializados en comida italiana y ecuatoriana Americana!
We stopped in after walking up the beach for about an hour, looking for a refreshing drink. Looking down from the Malecon this looked like the best place and we weren't disappointed. Vern had a Pilsner and I had a pineapple smoothie/shake. It was delightful, naturally sweet, very refreshing. As I'd almost completed the drink he brought out the rest and refilled my glass. I was stunned1 Who does that? Then to top that a street sweeper came by, working and he asked if he'd like some water. The man said yes. He got out a plastic cup, full of ice and water and gave it to him. You must give props when someone is a decent human as well as a good business man.

First of all you have to know, that the restaurant moved to a new location on the main road direction South. Itâs easy to find. The food and atmosphere are great and the two owners make everyone feel at home. We can highly recommend Il Pirata!

I went to Ezzios three times during my stay. The pizza was that good. I think it's the best pizza I've had in a long, long while. The personal pizza (3 USD, I think) was just the perfect size for me, as long as I was very hungry.

We love the Patata Marea, it's boiled potatoes with cream, bacon and cheese that is baked in a terra-cotta bowl and is served with pita bread! It's amazing! The pizza is cooked in a wood-fire over and it is also really good too. It's a quaint outdoor restaurant with a partial covering. Cash only though.

Pigro is a tyipcal Italian restaurant. Our interaly homemade meals came from the traditions of differents regions of Italy, but mostly from the northern ones, where our chef's born. The place is meanted to be like a typical Italian "trattoria", where good
The atmosphere and service are excellent. The dishes are expensive for Ecuador. As expected frutti di mare pasta (14$) was very good and portion was very big. But lasagne (8.5$) was a disappointment, without tomato sauce, the pasta itself overcooked. that us why I give it only 4 stars. House wine is ok!
