Delightful unpretentious small Italian restaurant on 1st floor of an old building. Friendly welcome on arrival and good service. Could not fault the food and the panna cotta was delicious. Why go to a bland restaurant chain with good family run restaurants like the European!

Italian trattoria, serving homemade fresh food 5 days a week. Family run, local institution, opened by Alfonso Mallardo, and now run by his two sons. In the evenings, we serve a mixture of Italian classics, and some more adventurous specials. Pop in for l
The food here is authentic, creative and served by an informed man with a smile. Eating here is like uncovering a hidden gem where you would least expect it. Everything on the menu seems fresh, seasonal and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and romantic and slightly quirky. We celebrated our engagement and the birth of our first child by eating here. Each time, we've tried something different and never been disappointed. The chefs are excellent and the manager is so friendly and kind. The service is great and we look forward to our next visit. I don't think it is open lunch time but it would be great if it was.....

A small friendly resturant that specialises in Italian and British food.
Evening meal with friends at the Clock Bistro on a Saturday night was simply excellent as it always is, staff are charming and helpful, owner is chatty, but the food is the real deal its marvellous, plenty of choices on the menu and the specials are tempting as well, always busy, booking a must. Plus they have Doom bar which is great.

Authentic Italian Cuisine. Our Mission We purchase fresh produce every morning, which enables us to propose a different menu on a daily basis. We have gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options available to suit all personal preferences. Booking required.
This place was a great little find. For starters we had the gnocchi and portobello mushroom with goats cheese. Both were delicious. For mains we had sirloin steak and chicken. Both were cooked perfectly and came with delicious seasonable vegetables. For a busy Saturday night we did not have to wait long for our food to arrive contrary to some reviews that it took a while. The owner and staff were very friendly and polite and the atmosphere was lovely with the pianist playing upstairs. I imagine the upstairs seating could have been a bit noisy with the kitchen and piano in the room but in the basement area the volume was perfect. We will be sure to return again.
