We have been many times before but last Saturdayâs visit was the worst service of any restaurant. Zombie waiter with no people skills. Held glasses by drinking edge. Leaned across people to serve. Didnât clear used glasses and bottles. Had to ask twice for drinks. Dumped water jug and glasses on table to help ourselves. Waited ages for food and sent two dishes back as cold. Waited 20 minutes for coffee and asked twice for the bill. Finally only gave two after eight chocolates although there were five of us. We wonât be returning.

I had a really great night out recently with some friends and I really cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was absolutely top notch, served fresh and hot. The staff were really nice, friendly people. We were respectful, although spirits were high and the owner and his staff joined in the fun. They also have an amazing view of the sea from many areas of the restaurant which serves to enhance the relaxed dining experience. I really cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and would more than happily dine there again.

Great reception, welcomed warmly. Seated with space. Drinks arrived promptly.A set menu for Sunday, starter main and side. Tho you could go off menu if you know what you want. I do not tolerate coriander, so they prepare food separately for me- which other Indian restaurants in town refuse to. Food is prepared immediately and freshly, always delivered hot and very tasty. Unfortunately the restaurant is not terribly accessible, I manage on crutches, but it is too narrow for most wheelchairs. Good news is they deliver locally.

The Bengal Palace is a friendly family owned restaurant where you can enjoy innovative Indian cuisine in elegant and stylish surroundings. Great pride is taken in creating an extensive range of contemporary dishes from Bengal and the Indian continent. The
Taken me a while to get round to writing this and I honestly cannot say why it has. We head here a lot for meals so are treated as regulars, I suppose. However, let's compare and contrast last night's experience with one of our first (some 20 months ago).Last night, the restaurant was set to be very busy when we walked in. A party of 18 were due in and there were several other small tables already being fed. We ordered our dishes, one from the regular menu and one for the more adventurous eaters. We did not have to wait long at all for service (from the ever friendly, ever helpful staff) nor did we have to wait long for the food to arrive at our table. On the first time we visited we were treated as though we were regulars, little realising that was what we would become. There's two reasons for that. Firstly, the staff, and secondly, the quality of the food.I'm not an expert on Indian food (nor any food from that region of the world, for that matter) but I do know what I like, and I can spot the difference between quality and average probably better than most given I have worked in the industry.Let me tell you now that these dishes are of a superior quality and you can tell that not only the front-of-house staff but also those never-mentioned chefs are as concerned about the quality of food as anyone, if not more so. If you can manage to cook superb food in a kitchen with a Tandoor in weather like we've been having, you deserve the status of legend. Please visit. Please visit again. And Again. It's well worth it.Oh wow! This must be the most comprehensive and rewarding (for the staff) review ever. it's brilliant to be recognised by someone who has worked in the industry and appreciates the effort the team put in, both in the restaurant and also behind the scenes in a hot kitchen.Thank you so much!
Disgusting It took over an hour to arrive and when it did the side and starter was wrong the meat was chewy and cold I rang to complain and they were very rude. I will not be using them again what a disgrace

Having been a regular customer for many years was disgusted at the flavorless offering. Asked for extra hot resembled less than mild. Coupled with this food was not hot and the delivery driver absolutely stunk of cigarettes, smelt like he had smoked a whole packet on his drive to our house. Once I receive this kind of poor quality I rarely return, so my regular custom will now go to another curry house, I am disappointed you let the food go out like this
