Reviewed By Michael MLocated right in the middle of village opposite tourist info. Bit of an effort to find the owner, thank you tourist info centre. Think this was built in the 15th century, so pretty amazing to see the old timber beams. Room was good size, comfortable, clean, good breakfast & the owner very friendly Stay here it is fine

Reviewed By VenicebikeWas für eine Überraschung, wenn man die Häuser das erst mal betritt. Eine Traumaussicht auf die Wiese und den Wald. Ruhe und Entspannung ab der ersten Minute. Perfekt eingerichtete und ausgestattete Wohnung. Die Gastgeberfamilie, immer hilfsbereit, verwöhnte uns jeden Morgen mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück. In der Gegend Vogelsberg / Spessart kann ich mir keine bessere Unterkunft als Ausgangspunkt für allerlei Aktivitäten vorstellen.

Reviewed By VR316Das "Deutsche Haus" ist so, wie man sich ein deutsches Haus vorstellt. Ein ordentliches Hotel mit dem Charme der 80er und 90er-Jahre im Gastraum und den Zimmern. Alles sehr ordentlich und sauber, punktuell modernisiert (Bad). Highlight sicherlich beim Essen das Rindfleisch von eigenen Galloway-Rindern. das Rumpsteak mit frischen Pilzen und Zwiebeln war sehr lecker. Generell scheint die ganze Familie mitzuarbeiten, alles wirkt familiär und freundlich. Als Vegetarier würde ich ein anderes Restaurant wählen, die vegetarische Pizza konnte nur bedingt überzeugen. Fazit: Für eine Nacht in der Region empfehlenswert, außer man ist mit einer Vegetariergruppe unterwegs... ;-)

Pit Stop Steinau an der Strasse - Brothers Grimm
Reviewed By Bish555We stayed here overnight as a pit stop, driving back from Brussels. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the picturesque village of Steinau an der Strasse, where the famous Grimm's Brother museum. We stayed in the family room out back. It was large and clean. A small room housed the toilet and shower. The double bed was firm and a single bed was available with a couch. The fittings were well worn and not properly constructed (the top to the dresser not connected to the draws). Overall the hotel is run down and in desperate need of refurbishment. But hey, for 75€ B&B, who's complaining. The hotel serves food and that was superb. We enjoyed a schnitzel which was double the size and thickness of a normal one. Wild Salmon was again a large portion and delicious. The breakfast was also very good, typical German continental with 2 eggs each and 2 cappuccinos. I really cannot complain about food and staff. Staff very friendly and seemed like family.
