Arthotel Tornedalen is a part of Art Centre Tornedalen. Live in the most beautiful of worlds, unpretentious, authentic and simple in a small village with only 62 people. Located 40 km north of Haparanda and the Gulf of Bothnia. Arthotel is next to Torne River with an amazing view across the river into Finland. The accommodation is filled with arts and crafts, and is uplifted by the beautiful countryside surrounding the houses. Experience the atmosphere of staying in a home. From the door there is private walking/skiing trail straight into the forest, grill facilities and an architect-designed Lookout tower by Art Centre Tornedalen, two km out in the forest. Outdoor wood heated sauna. We offer full service, private chef and welcome individuals and groups.
Unique experience, feels like a home
Reviewed By 804rebeccadWe spent 4 days and 3 nights in a rented home at the ArtHotel. The house was perfect for our family. Most other accommodations in the Swedish Lapland’s would require our family of four to split up 2x2. We wanted accommodations that we could be together and this home was perfect. Everything was modernized, all the accessories needed for the stay. Meals were provided in the main home so we didn’t need to worry about cooking. Food was fabulous, compliments to Simmi. You can arrange to self cater and there is a restaurant within a reasonable distance if you want options. Gunhild arranged all our activities which were perfect-reindeer, Sami culture, snowmobiles, dog sledding. My only regret is that we didn’t take one extra day or two to relax at the house and enjoy the property more. Many trails from the house for cross country skiing, snow shoeing. Equipment provided. Would love to come back in the summer. The Torne River Valley has such a humble character, but so beautiful.

The lodge is situated on Luppio Mountain, on the border to Finland. In the main building you'll find the reception, restaurant, bar and a cozy lounge with fireplace. In our restaurant we serve good food with local ingredients from Lapland. The main building and the 40 cabins have big windows for you to fully enjoy the breathtaking views over the snowy treetops, the Torne River and the wide area. The lodge also have a newly built husky kennel with approx 50 dogs.

Reviewed By johanness382Personalen var supertrevlig och väldigt tillmötesgående ?? Fantastisk miljö och att njuta av bastun med den utsikten går inte av för hackor! Jag hade inte bokat spanchef bastu och trotts ca att jag var enda gästen på berget den kvällen/natten så fixade dom i ordning allt.

Reviewed By Seethis456Our party which consisted of myself, my husband and our thirty year old son who is a wheelchair user in one apartment; my brother in law and my sister in law who is also a wheelchair user, in the second apartment, stayed at The Friendly Moose in November 2019. The accommodation was just as described, it was warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped for the special needs of my son and sister in law. What made it so relaxing was knowing that Maria and Paul were always close by in case there were any difficulties. Fortunately there weren't! Maria and Paul were amazing right from the very start to the very end of our stay - they not only arranged all of the activities and trips, transported us everywhere, they also provided invaluable assistance to ensure my son and sister in law were able to participate fully and safely in all of the activities. Activities that included sledging, meeting the moose and reindeers; an incredible experience meeting the huskies and finishing the day off with a huskie ride across the frozen lake. We also enjoyed a ride in the snow mobile expertly driven by Paul around the local area, taking in the amazingly beautiful scenery. The people we met along the way were lovely, really friendly and patient, and all seemed to go out of their way to make each activity so memorable for us. Maria and Paul helped us to have one of the best holidays we have ever had and we hope to return one day. Chris form Derby

Ostädat och allmänt oprofessionellt
Reviewed By JNo_SverigeBra bemötande och dialog per mejl inför bokning. Inte så bra på plats. Upplevdes väldigt ostrukturerat och oprofessionellt. Receptionen var sporadiskt bemannad och när dörren var låst fanns inga kontaktuppgifter anslagna. Stugorna var väldigt ostädade, svartmögel och hårtussar i duschen, sandiga golv, fläckig och smutsig soffa. Det var dåligt underhållet med trasiga lådor och skåp i köket. Egen städning var nästan omöjlig då städutrustningen enbart bestod av en sop och skyffel. Dock rent och snyggt bäddat i sängarna. Synd att en anläggning som i grunden skulle gå att hålla i bra skick inte sköts bättre. Stugorna är relativt moderna men väldigt styvmoderligt behandlade. Då man tar 1295 för en natt med sänglinne kändes det inte prisvärt. Vi kommer inte boka där igen.
