New hotel opened about 10 months ago. An old 13th. Century castle/palace converted to hotel. Quite a famous building, full of history.
Lovely hotel, on a fantastic spot overlooking the hills and the town. Very friendly service. Nice breakfast in another room with a terrific view. Difficult route to get there with a long winding one-way street. But definitely worth the detour!

If you are with a car, instead of a city center, this is a good choice. In the rural part of Onati, very comfortable hotel in the middle of a rural area. Good value for money with free breakfast and free parking. I recommend you to visit the old town of Onati, very cute place.

The surroundings of the hotel are really astounding. Perfect starting point for hiking in a truly wonderful area, and for those in search of some quiet, meditation and peace. However there is nothing around, and it's a 10 mn drive to Onati. The rooms are clean and modern and large. However we thought the restaurant was not up to the hotel's otherwise high standard: food okay but not particularly exceptional, menu not flexible (only 3-course menu available) and sometimes hard to communicate with some of the waiters with our limited Spanish and no written menu to support us. Maybe the menu del dia could be written on a board or somewhere, it would help...

No descarto volver.

An incredible place to spend some days around nature, discover the region and be surprised by the beautiful people around! The hostel is very nice and clean, all new and quite cheap for the region and extremely well located to discover nature around. It's also located just in front a very beautiful and astonishing church ( Sanctuary of Arantzazu), a high recommended visit if you're around. Joseba (the hostel's responsable) is incredibly kind and attentive. He helped us with everything we needed! He was always available to answer our questions, give some advice, give us a ride, share some stories and everything else we needed in the time there. I had a great moment talking to him! We (my friends and I) were very surprised with the place since we got there just trying to scape from the tourism on the coast. We spent 4 days there and it was a delightful moment. We want definitely to go back soon!
