Just out of Thaton, on a hill with a great view over the Mae Kok river, the mountains and the rice fields.Includes breakfast, internet acces + WIFI, Laundry, swimming pool
First of all Thaton is a dusty little town with little to do. This 7-bungalow hotel is packed with charm. The garden all around smells Devine. Stay calm, there's no a/c. The bungalows are so very cool. The owner is charming. Perfect for city-worn travelers!

Areeya Phuree Resort is the perfect getaway. It is simply an ideal resort for honeymooners, couples, families or those seeking to get away from the busy mainstream holiday areas. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful mountaineous view and just below the mountain is the Maekok River which not only sets up a unique experience of holidaying right by the river, but it also serves a route which takes you all the way to Chiang Rai. Certainly an ideal location as a stop over for you to take a breathe of fresh air before heading on your journey. Our resort provides you with the best service as we offer delicious authentic Thai food. We grow most of own organic vegetables in our garden. Here, you can enjoy your day lazing in the pool with the view of the mountains.
Pros: Its cheap. Good fresh omelettes in an otherwise poor continental breakfast. Cons: I don't thing any of the top booking sites should be offering this property. Dining room being renovated while we were there. Room dirty throughout. Toilet seat broken. Swimming pool water green, no way I was getting in that. I'm surprised at some of the good reviews on here. Come on people: tell it like it is. My advice is to pay more and stay at a decent hotel

Very affordable accommodation, rooms, though just a bit too small are spacious, clean and the view is breathtaking. Dinner... they have everything! We saw fresh fish and simply every kind of Thai food you can think of. I would give them 6 stars for the food alone! Big portions, amazingly good, as they say in Thai 'sai djai'. It's a bit of a walk to town if you're without a transportation. The view compensate that.

It was quite a long drive out from Chang Mai city up to Mae Ai, en-route to further places, but the drive was worth it, and the tiny little hotel where we stayed in, in Mae Ai, proved to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A small family run hotel, consisting of small separate wooden chalet/bungalows set within the ornate gardens. The air-conditioned chalets, were all named after plants or flowers, rather than being numbered. All had external patios or 'decks' too. The chalet interiors had been beautifully decorated and appointed, and similarly a very modern and up to date bathroom within. We had, quite unwittingly booked, stumbled upon, another little gem. We might possibly have been the only guests, we really do not know, but we were all very thankful for our luck in finding such a small, yet luxurious base camp, for 2 nights, before driving further up into the mountains, during the middle day. The people there were very helpful in pointing us toward good places to eat back in Mae Ai town itself a few miles back down the road. I think it's fair to say that currently, and quite understandably, this little hotel does not really offer anything more a Bed & Breakfast service when it comes to their own catering operation, at present. Yet an individually prepared, cooked breakfast was available from the moment we entered the dining area, each morning. Fabulous, fabulous little place, and we all wish them well and continued success for the future. We were sad to leave. Note: This beautiful little hotel lies back from the main road by only 40-50 metres or so, thus light sleepers might prefer to be further back and more away from the road.

We booked a room at Thaton River View Resort, because the website looks OK and the price including breakfast with 1.400,- THB for the weekend was OK But when we arrived we feel happy because the place looks nice just at the river with a restarant. But after checking the room we run away. at google someone post a price including breakfast for 600,- THB 3 years ago and I think that time the room looks better than now but they charge 1.400,-

It may at one point been nice place could you can see it has potential. However it is run down and in need of a major overhaul... I booked here several weeks ago and upon arriving and being shown my room the first thing I did was to take a walk through town to find somewhere else to stay. When I returned for a refund the coupe that checked in right after me showed up to get there money back as well. There was no problem doing so which made my feel this this is something that happens often. Booking.com had a rating of 7.3... it is closer to 1.3 if that. The rooms were not clean, one bed when you sat down nearly collapsed and the other creaked and rocked. The sitting area had a very hard bamboo sofa type structure to sit on without pillows that showed in the pictures on Booking.com. And to the dismay of the other couple that booked a month in advance there is NO yoga... it is not the Yoga Retreat as promised... This was truly false advertising... Again DO NOT STAY HERE... On my walk I found a great place on the river near the bridge. It was new, modern with every clean room and an excellent view. There is a large patio area right on the river to relax and watch the river go by. What made it even nicer was the rooms were even less the 600 baht that Yoga Art Home was charging. The River Inter View Hotels rates ranged from 400-700 baht per night.
