Rumah Kita is a small scale hotel/guesthouse with just 6 rooms in a 1 Ha. Garden with swimmingpool. All rooms are very spacious with a big bathroom with toilet and shower and a terrace. All rooms have free Wifi. Rumah Kita has its own restaurant and from the garden there is an unopbstructed view on the Gunung Raung volcano and the rice fields. All kind of trips can be arranged. There are 4 National Parks which can be visited and trips to Meru Betiri (Giant sea turtles)and Kawah Ijen (Sulphur volcano) are very popular. Also excursions to one of the plantations (Coffee, Cocoa, Rubber, Clove) around Kalibaru can be arranged. Rumah Kita can also arrange all transport from and to other parts of Java and Bali.
Rumah Kita is a beautiful place. The garden is just amazing with lots of different plants and very well preserved, you feel like in a botanic garden. The rooms are very spacious, and clean and the beds are also very comfortable. Peter helped us with tips to organize the rest ouf our trip. He took the time to. Sit with us and share his knowledge. It was very helpfull. We also did the sukamade tour with them, to see the turtles. It was amazing, very well organized. On the way, we stopped at different plantations like latex, coffee, cacao and we also saw the tofu production. Rumah Kita is a very special place and so is its staff. We highly recommend it and we would without doubt go back if passing by kalibaru again!

A well run and maintained oasis with fabulous food grown on their property. We enjoyed the aroma spice tour, the beautifully maintained grounds, the refreshing infinity pool, comfortable beds and strong shower. Highly recommend!

Villa Kendi is a place that offers elegance & satisfaction of all our guest. Share your wonderful moment with us.
A really great location for people who want to relax and stay away from the crowded streets of big town Surabaya or even easy Malang. The beautiiful villa is constructed around the swimming pool, with a view on the surrounding nature and river. Keywords of the personnel: ‘quiet’ and ‘easy going’. Kalibaru offers a marketplace where you can buy your daily food and drinks, and, if wanted, a set of locally fabricated pots and pans. After that, enjoy the swimming pool in Villa Kendi and the kind hospitality of mrs Janti, who will serve you the best of the local kitchen and makes you feel at home immediately. Take another swim in the pool, or take a dokar, the local transportstion vehicle, including kusir (driver) Suryadi and the young Faruk, who guides you through the ricefields and the small family driven sugarproduction plants. In short: Villa Kendi is a once in a life time experience!

We stayed three nights at Villa Bugis. The rooms and the hotel grounds are really beautiful. Especially the swimmingpool! Also handayo and the rest of the staff are very friendly. Dinner is very delicious. One minor thing were the tours. Because the hotel is situated in a rather quiet area it is not possible to rent a car or motorbike to explore the area by yourself. This means you need to book a tour through the hotel. We wanted to visit a plantation and factory. The tour they offered costed 52 euro excluding entrance fee to the plantation. We thought this was very expensive!! We are students, and compared to indonesian standards this doesn't make sense. Therefore we decided to rent mountainbikes from the hotel in order to visit a plantation by ourselves. Due to the bad roads and the bad quality of the mountainbikes this wasn't a success. Nevertheless we managed to reach a plantation by means of cycling and hitchhiking. The tour we did at the plantation was only 11 euro's including entrance, drinks and snacks. Another day we walked around the area with a few kampungs and many coffee and sugarplantations. Very nice!
