Breakfast was terrible, hardly any thing to choose from, water for tea was luke warm (but no breakfast tea anyway), I heard the coffee was only just warm also. Had a job to find the hotel as the signage is hidden from the road so road past it once and had to turn back but plenty of parking. Rooms were basic but a decent size with the weirdest shower curtain I've ever seen, water was just about hot enough for a shower. Had an evening meal for a group of 24 and it was served well and good portions even coming round to see who wanted more. It is basic but other than the breakfast just about OK for a night.

In one word Bello! Before I left Australia I read a book called the “blue zones” which talked about some villages in the middle of Sardinia that had some of the longest living people. Family, quality food and a sense of purpose were just some of the qualities of these people. I really wanted to learn more, so upon arrival at Hotel Gusana I was blown away by the beauty, the peace and the friendliness of the family and owners. The food was amazing, the conversation even better and again the natural beauty of the views of the lake and surroundings was awesome. Would definitely recommend! ?

The owner,Sig.ra Lella, is very kind, the room comfortable, clean and quite big. The breackfast is superior: handcraft biscuites and cakes made by her, handmade yogurt and fresh fruits. parking and wifii for free. Simple to find the place.

Extremely cute rooms in a cute location. Balcony overlooking the old part of Gavoi, with a square and a church right next to the building. Very picturesque. We met Franco and Marinella at Santa Rughe and Franco took us up to the guest house by car (we left ours at the main street). Great breakfast served at the restaurant, just a delicious 5 minute morning stroll from the guest house. Dinner at Santa Rughe also recommended! No fridge or AC in the rooms. There is a heater though (probably needed for the other seasons of the year). Ps: I requested information beforehand on how to get there and as a result we knew we had to go to Santa Rughe and not directly to the guest house (there is no reception there). You can therefore avoid the review 'one to avoid' of "the gliteratti" if you take some pro-active effort to prepare your trip
