Big Improvement
Reviewed By Luis cA return from 1.5yrs and found a much better and friendly persons, special Dª Carla Mota, from the reservation of the room, breakfast and reception. Breakfast is a normal( has eggs, bacon), but not many options as fruit are from can, should be more natural. The hotel has a very nice view to the moutains "Estrela". Gym is payed even for quests and also has a TIME to be there?? Most they I stay are FREE.

Solar dos Caceres in the Centro region of Portugal, Dao wine country, has eight guest rooms (5 double standard and 3 double twin), an outdoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and Bar.
Very pleasant surprise in rural Portuguese countryside
Reviewed By Y69YIt’s not easy to find a quality hotel in this part of very rural Portugal but luckily Solar dos Cáceres was recommended to me by a local contact. We needed to stay for 3 nights and wanted someone comfortable, boutique and not busy. Solar exceeded our expectations - the lobby is stylish with a log fire, staff very friendly, rooms clean, modern and comfortable. Nice architecture and quality renovation. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant all 3 nights - the food was very good and nicely presented, the menu is very varied for a small restaurant with a lot to choose from. We stayed in a room overlooking the pool and the garden but other rooms in the main house are also nice and even more spacious. We have family living in this area so we checked out all 8 rooms for our future stays - they are all good. We went for a nice walk in the woods around the hotel - the location is very peaceful but with not much to do. It’s worth mentioning that the hotel is under new ownership and management since October 2020 and the new team is clearly doing a great job. Pedro at the reception and Luis at the restaurant made our stay very pleasant. Will be definitely back and recommend it.

Perfect for a large group
Reviewed By João cCasa da Varzea has all the essential creature comforts for a wonderful family or friends weekend away. We love being in the tranquil farm environment and away from the hustle and bustle. The amazing view from the deck makes it a place you could just sit and watch time pass. Nestle up in front of the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet.

É simples mas adequada para as necessidades que pretendíamos para as nossas férias. O a noção de conforto varia de pessoa para pessoa, vimos críticas aos colchões e almofadas mas para nós estava bastante bom. A piscina não é muito grande mas é adequada e serviu bem o propósito de nos refrescar nos dias de calor que, felizmente apanhámos.
