Terrible...Lacked Clean Linen

Reviewed By briderenee

There was one washcloth and one towel in room upon check-in. Requested more towels and was told that I would have to wait until the morning. In the morning I found a nice housekeeper lady by the name of Rita and requested additional towels. Rita informed that none were available at the time but assured me that she would get me some towels. Rita delivered more towels as promised, but face clothes were STAINED and appeared to have been cut from a bath towel. Showered water did not drain (Yuck), bed linen was also stained. Light ceiling cover was detaching from the ceiling, room had a foul oder, scuff marks on the wall, office chair was peeling, some wall outlets were not functional. At a price point of $125+ I expected more I expected more. The hotel wasn't far from what I would call a dump. During this pandemic times, cleanliness is important and this hotel missed the mark.

This place is awesome. Historic home within walking distance to everything Clarksdale. Stayed in the Big Daddy suite and I enjoyed most the books in the library and sitting in the rockers on the front porch in the morning. Make sure to stop at the Hambone Gallery. Stan is a true Renaissance man. We didn't want to leave and are already planning a return trip.

Friendly staff but dirty hotel

Reviewed By brittanycQ4383LW

We stayed a night here after driving 8 hours with 3 kids, so we were exhausted. The pictures are deceiving. Let me start by saying the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We checked into our room and it immediately smelled like old, cigarette smoke just lingering in the room. Second, spots in the carpet and floor were almost sunk in like from moisture I'm assuming. Which also was a big turn off. We stayed here, during the pandemic and in this town nothing hardly was opened. No morning breakfast, no sit down restaurant, no parks. Disappointed after traveling for 8 hours. We ended up going to bed at 8:30 pm. When we go to leave in the morning, it looked like there was a tornado in the parking lot, with how much trash there was. I did see one employee picking it. I would not trust leaving my car unlocked here, or valuables in sight. However, we did sleep peaceful and no loud noises were heard which is hard to find when you stay in a hotel. I thought $90 was super high for this hotel. On the way home, we booked a hotel in Tupelo, and much nicer city and hotel.
