The house is very beautiful - the owners explained that it's an old house, around 100 years old, and it keeps its wood and rock spirit, but at the same time is very well conditioned: good heating, wifi everywhere, etc. They offer vegetarian dinner and a big breakfast, but we ate somewhere else in town. They were very friendly. The town is very small, so even if you cannot park close to the posada, you will have not problem reaching it from the parking on the town border. It has many small shared areas to read, rest, etc.

It is located near one end of Anso, which is good in that it would be difficult to drive right into the centre of this village. Limited parking is available behind the Casa. The owner greeted us at the door and was very friendly and helpful (despite not speaking English). But we could figure out everything in the end. We had a lovely, large room with a balcony, overlooking the other stone houses and narrow streets. Our suite was very comfortable, charming and spacious. The bathroom had a great shower. There were skylights in the room to let in more light. There is a terrace for breakfast. Unfortunately, there were no screens on our balcony door -- and there were flies outside (due to the season?). There are no table lamps beside the bed, there is only an overhead fluorescent room light. This would be an easy fix, to make this room more appealing. We were here doing the shoulder season, we assume there are not many tourists at this time. So we were unable to find any restaurants open for dinner. We tried from 7-9 pm but none of the restaurants opened. We did manage to get some cheese and salami at a deli that opened earlier. Anso is a very picturesque stone town. We enjoyed wandering around here.

Rosemaria could not have been nicer, and the place was spotless and the beds just right. This was a last stopover before we had to make the long drive back to Madrid, and after three days of hiking and church-viewing and eating well, it was a terrific (and entirely reasonable, price-wise) stop. Parking is just down the road, but you can unload right at the door. We ate nearby, not having realized that we could have eaten at the Casa Rural, if we'd made arrangements beforehand (oops), and judging from the breakfast the next day, dinner would have been memorable. She runs a fine establishment; prepare yourself for a few stairs, and the towels were not abundant, but there certainly were more for the asking. We'd stay here again at the drop of a hat; the town is a delight, and within fifty meters were 100 sheep (who moved out just before the late Spanish dusk to return to their nighttime corral, traveling right through town). What you want in a rural stay! Also is a delight.

This is halfway between a hostel and a bed and breakfast, with its own small bar and restaurant. In a fabulous, scenic location by a stream and in sight of the majestic Pyrenees, it makes a good base for hiking or exploring the region. Services and facilities limited although wifi is available and all the usual basic fixtures, shower and half bath, men suite in our case but quite cramped for four in a two double bunk room with a roof light. Be aware there are no printed menus and the family not only speak hardly any English but also their Spanish is very regional-there is a local language called Ansitano prevalent in the area around Anso and it differs from the standard tongue and Basque also. Parking is by the roadside so all bags and goods must be carried across the footbridge and up stairs to the rooms behind the hostel. Not suitable for disabled visitors. Lovely fresh homegrown fruit andvegetables, good cooking too though from a limited set menu each day. Power cuts can also happen here.
