Preston Guild Wheel

Reviewed By gervaish2013 - Preston, United Kingdom

This is one of Lancashire's little gems and a really great cycle route. Whilst well established and much improved, it remains a really great cycle "tool". It is peppered with lots of interest, including nature reserves, pubs (some just off the route), cafes and parks. On show is some of the best and worst of Preston but a well labelled fun route. Suitable for almost any cyclist with some small, short hills (small dismount and push). Try it today.

Warton Crag

Came here In-between lockdowns and it was a great place to get away from it all. Plenty of butterflies, birds and lizards to see along with some breathtaking views from the top. There are two ways up, one is pretty vertical up the cliff face the other is more gently but still requires a good pair of boots.

Pendle Sculpture Trail

Reviewed By Lozza105

Visited here with the dogs it’s a great walk and more so it’s free. Depending on when you go depends on footwear. Winter dats definitely need wellies or walking boots. There is a climb but if you take your time it’s fine. Not suitable for wheel chairs though. I can’t find anything to moan about as it’s a beautiful place, there is Pendle hill in the background a few nice welcoming pubs. Great outdoors and fresh air. The heart of Pendle witches. Car parking is a £1 all day. What more do you want. It beats sitting In doors playing on computers and watching tele. Some people just like to moan about anything even when it’s free fresh air :-)

Tolkien Trail

Reviewed By GardenPie - Burnley, United Kingdom

A 3-hour walk through the peaceful Ribble Valley. This walk takes you through varying terrains, from woodlands to meandering river banks, and from farmland to collegiate fields. Put your boots on, grab a flask and your loved ones and spend the afternoon exploring the rolling hills of Lancashire. Finish at the Shireburn Arms for a pint of real ale and some modern British pub food.
