The Olde Village Tearoom small friendly eaterie in the Village of Mountcharles, 5 kilometers from Donegal town. It serves breakfast lunch and desserts. All our cakes and desserts are home made and baked daily on the premises. Enjoy a tea and scone or coff
What is there not to like here from the decor and beautiful china to the welcoming owner who is a delight to meet and I haven't even got around to the food yet. Well, we sampled warm scones just out of the oven, cherry and coconut or fruit, the best millionaire shortbread I have ever eaten, delicious chocolate cake, great pavlova, and tea and coffee with as much re-fills as you need - all at unbelievable prices. This amazing lady does all the baking herself and looks after her customers so well that you feel this is what every cafe should be like. Can't wait to go back.Thankyou so much for your wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure to serve you and your lovely family. I hope you enjoyed your short break in Donegal and that you have an opportunity to visit again in the near future. Warm wishes, Lorraine

We are regular customers every year and look forward to the cafe opening for the summer. The new menu and decor is fabulous. I had the pancakes with maple syrup & bacon which were delicious. My youngest had the kids pancakes with nutella and also agreed they were divine. My eldest had the mini breakfast with a homemade scone. The scones was so fresh he loved it. We will be back for lunch. All very reasonably priced. Thank you all.

I can't tell you how often I've driven past this place; it wasn't until I saw a review on google I think that I decided to give it a try. I'd never really noticed it before - I would recommend better signage from the road, as I'm annoyed at myself for having missed it!!!Such a lovely location. Great open, modern space, with beautiful views out onto Killybegs bay. Fab for anyone with mobility difficulties as there is a lift up.Above everything though, the food is just excellent. Great range of beautiful seafood, and wonderful desserts. I'm so happy to have found this place and really look forward to returning soon!Thank you!Hi Kathleen, thanks so much for your lovely review, we're delighted you enjoyed your meal, We are in the process on getting road signage as we are a bit lost alright but we will get there! Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you soon,Linda and Gary x

The Butterrock restaurant is situated on Dungloeâs main street & is the perfect place to head for a cup of hot tea or coffee, a mouth-wateringly delicious slice of homemade apple pie, a lunch of freshly breaded haddock, a soup & sandwich. The list goes on
Stopped in here while touring around the North West of Donegal. Lovely, friendly and clean coffee shop on the main street. Parking available behind the Cope supermarket as Main St parking is a quite busy.Good cafe menu to suits most tastes. We had toasted sandwiches followed by delicious and substantial sized desserts. Cafe serving breakfast, brunch, soups, sandwiches and hot lunches. Homemade baked goods and Lavazza Coffee all day too. Daily seafood specials.
Spent a week in Donegal & Derry, ate at some posh places... Ahoy gave us our best meal by far! The breakfast was superb - especially the honey roasted tomatoes with sesame seeds! I stuck my head in to the kitchen to nick some ideas, and they were wonderful! If I wasn't hundreds of miles away I'd eat there most days!
