Liverpool's fortunes have historically been tied to shipping. But imports and exports like sugar, spice and tobacco pale in comparison with Liverpool's most famous export of all—the Beatles. Relive the hysteria at the Beatles Story Experience, and check out Paul's childhood home, but also leave time for exploring Liverpool Cathedral and the Walker Art Gallery.

We play at another local Wirral club , but were kindly invited to Wallasey by a member as a birthday gift for my son. As soon as you pull into the car park , the sense of history with the traditional club house hits you . The pro shop staff were extremely friendly and helpful On to the course and although my own golf on the day was awful , none of this had anything to do with the course which I can only describe as sublime. Perfectly manicured greens that run true without bobbles or deviation, crisp clear fairways . well defined rough and beautiful sculptured grass paths all set in lovely rolling dunes on the Wirral coast. The bunkers ( and I visited most of them ) were difficult , were fantastic , lots of clean stone free soft sand giving confidence to dig in and take the shot aggressively . The greens stunning Make no mistake , this is a golfers course , and not for the feint hearted , challenging testing and with the wind a true fight , and all the better for it , some truly outstanding holes which are not all about belting the ball as hard as possible but rather craft , guile and a good golf brain. A golfers golf course. The day was cut short through no fault of anyone's dues to lightening storms and we had to depart half way around. but even there Wallasey's class come to the fore with an instant offer to allow us to replay the round free of charge. If you are looking for a stunning golf course , that treats visitors well , with a beautiful backdrop with fantastic views of coast and sea , look no further.

Renowned as one of the world's great links courses and home to what has been voted the 12th most iconic clubhouse in the world, Formby Golf Club is a special experience. Dating back to 1884 there has always been a strong tradition of hosting the main amateur events and the Club has held four Amateur Championships, six senior Amateur Championships, six English Amateur Championships, the Arnold Palmer Cup, the Curtis Cup and Open championship final qualifying amongst many more. The course offers a unique golfing experience, with a links that incorporates two tree lined holes, and will test every level of golfer.
We have just returned from an unforgettable weekend at Formby golf club stopping in the Dormy House for 2 nights and playing 2 rounds on the Links and one on the Ladies course. We were a party of 8 golfers from North Wales whose handicaps ranged from 1 to 14.From the moment we arrived on Friday morning until we left on Sunday afternoon everything was perfect. We were greeted by Elaine on reception who in a very pleasant manner explained all the procedures now in place and Karen then escorted us to our rooms and explained everything that we needed to know.Throughout our stay all of the staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and courteous and went out of their way to make our stay so pleasant. The golf course was absolutely magnificent and in fantastic condition and proved a real test to us all and having played at all the major courses Formby is up there with the best of them. Thanks to the pro for his advice and all the members for making us so welcome.

I have played at Childwall golf club for many years, and find it a challenging parkland course. It has hosted many prestigious competitions and has recently undergone a wonderful refurbishment. You will not be disappointed with any aspects of this impressive club.
