George is the sweetest, most thoughtful artist who has created in 2 days the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. He put his heart and creativity into capturing the sea in my ring. I am truly grateful and lucky to have met George and cannot recommend his beautiful shop enough.

Facing the lovely port between the main square and the ferry, Koos is an utter surprise. A two-story boutique filled with beautifully designed glasses, women's clothes, shoes, jewelry and decorative items for your home, much of it created by local Greek designers. Amid all the chain stores and fast fashion in Greece, it isn't easy to find original clothes and objects that straddle the line between art and fashion, but Koos has found them and assembled a beautiful shop of luxurious but affordable fashion and object hand selected by the charming, kind family that founded and runs the store. They went out of their way to help me, not just in the shop but also in finding another place to stay when I extended my visit to Paxos. It was surprising to find it in a place as small as Paxos when nothing like it exists on the larger island of Corfu. I returned several times, and over the 10 days I was in Gaios bought a gorgeous, hand dyed dress in the finest gossamer linen trimmed in lace, very simple, very elegant, entirely unique. I bought discrete but original jewelry as gifts (such a great alternative to the repetitive tourist stuff you see everywhere) and a pair of reading glasses that I couldn't resist. If you're looking for something beautiful, that you won't find anywhere else -- and you'd like to meet some absolutely charming, friendly people -- stop by Koos. It's wonderful.
