The first time I came here was six or seven years ago, and just loved it, with each product seeming to taste even better than the last. Since that first visit I've purchased from them many times online (I live nearly 400 miles away) and have visited during every trip to Calaveras County. They send out occasional recipe and cooking ideas, which is very much appreciated. I have visited many other olive oil/balsamic tasting rooms, but Marisolio's products are by far the best.

We sell fossils, minerals, jewelry and anything to do with the earth sciences. We also have a earth science learning center for educational programs by appointment. We have been in business since 1974 most of those years here in the Sierra Nevada foothill.
I love this place and have been shopping here (at their previous location in Murphys) since 1986. Always unique and interesting specimens to find here. Last time I dug through the back room to find a great mineral base to display another mineral upon. Always fun, and Russ and Pam have so much good and interesting information.

We were so happy to see the Spice Tin was open when we drove through Murphys, even though we are in the middle of a pandemic. We were so hoping we were able to pick up some Zatar, a spice that is hard to find in regular grocery stores. My husband loves to make his Mediterranean dishes and Zatar is a needed spice. They now sell from a Dutch Door to stay in compliance but they have so many wonderful spices and also many Christmas decorations and gifts as well. Before, they offered samples but now have to be much more careful. You will probably be able to find any spice you might be looking for here and the people are so helpful.
