Find out what Gastropub restaurants to try in Cork. Plan to cross many bridges when in Cork. Ireland's third-largest city began life as an island and now spans both banks of the River Lee, with watery channels running beneath some of its main thoroughfares. The best way to experience this hilly southern seaport is on foot, following the signposted walking tour past St. Finn Barre's Cathedral and the riverside quadrangle of University College up the hill to red and white Shandon Church. Along the way, you'll meet plenty of the city's talkative residents.

Shared a plate of ribs and wings for two people along with drinks. The wings were crispy with a nice BBQ sauce, ribs were good too but would have preferred them to be cooked on a barbecue or grill, they must have been oven cooked. 2/3 of the desserts ran out but we had rhubarb strawberry crumble with ice cream and it was pretty good. Recommend making a reservation here!

We are a local Pub and Restaurant in a beautiful country setting situated next door to Tracton woods. We pride ourselves on serving good drinks and focus on using quality local produce in all our dishes.
We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch a few days ago. Both our starters were excellent : the seafood soup had a Mediterranean feel and the black pudding tart had a deliciously crisp base. The roast lamb was perfectly cooked and it was accompanied by a generous portion of vegetables. The sticky toffee pudding was very tasty, if a bit short on toffee sauce. We would definitely return and we would recommend the restaurant to friends. The only minus point for us was that we remember the old cubicle layout of the restaurant some years ago and we missed that.

Visited last year & had a meal quickly forgotten, gave it another chance this year as the reviews generally continue to be positive & wondered if weâd just made bad choices, but definitely wonât be going back again. Chowder was overly salty, bacon special was dry & over cooked. Dishes on other tables looked heavy on the grease. Final chance, not to be repeated.

We were very much looking forward to try this restaurant after reading the comments.... what a disappointment!!! we took both platters (meat and fish) and nothing was good. The seafood seemed to be frozen and re-heated and the meat dish was not good. Either the restaurant is living on its good comments and has let its standards down or it really need to do its menu again. The staff was however professional

I'm giving this a poor review , mainly because the server who was mixing the dough and doing the till at the same time with no gloves on.handling change & mixing dough at once is unhygienic in my opinion. It kinda put me off the pizza
