Food is always excellent and consistent. The sea bass and spicy beans are our favs. Rated this lower as the hostess had no clue we were standing in front of her waiting at the check in area. Was not very helpful in seating us either. She didnât seem to care.

Top of Waikiki offers one of the most amazing views on earth; unforgettable sunset views, an endless expanse of turquoise blue surf and world famous waikiki beach. The view is matched by Executive Chef Lance Kosaka's Hawaii Regional Cuisine, where he pres
The experience started with a friendly greeting at street level. After reaching the desired floor level, it was a tad odd to be told to wait after making a reservation. Once seated the service staff were excellent, the city skyline and beach view just outstanding all brought together with wonderful food and wines selection, a great way to finish off our time in Honolulu.

This is the third year in a row that we have come back to this amazing restaurant during summer vacation. It first got our attention because of their unique feature of ube pancakes. Iâm a sucker for anything ube (ube ice cream, ube cake, ube halaya Iâm there!) so of course I needed to try this restaurant. One bite and I was in love. Why has no one thought of ube pancakes before? I was hooked. It does not stop there though. My son unfortunately has several food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, egg). He got to eat the Simple Breakfast Combo which is not simple in any way as it is served with rice or potatoes with spam, bacon and Portuguese sausage. They separated the bread and 2 eggs that comes with the order and we got to eat them. So they are pretty good with those with food allergies.Hubby got kimchi fried rice (2 years in a row) and daughter got loco moco (2 years in a row) and of course I got ube pancakes 3 years in a row. Will be coming back again and again!

Not sure what the hype is about. So many disappointing factors. 1. The menu on the website is not available in the restaurant. They don't do omakase. In fact the staff had no idea it was an option on the website until I showed them. 2. The lighting is horrible. It's way too bright as you're sitting under bare lightbulbs. No atmosphere at all. 3. The staff is generally nice but most are way too casual for the type of restaurant they're trying to be. At one point they carried out the trash through the tables. 4. The cocktails we ordered didn't arrive until midway through our main course and only after we complaint. They said the bar wad busy but they weren't even half full. 5. We had the 3 course tasting menu. The starter was ok, nothing to compliment or complain about. The main course (rib eye steak, which we paid 15 usd extra for) was absolutely horrible! Firstly the plate was crammed with sauce and vegetables. The steak was covered in a paste that tasted like pure salt. The steak was nicely cooked but the paste made it impossible to eat. The desert was tasty but too rich. All dishes lacked finesse and balance of flavours. 6. Parking was a challenge and there was no valet in site as per the website. I didn't complain about all the above. When asked, I just told them that the steak was incredibly salty. I have to give credit to our waiter who apologised profusely and refunded 1 entire meal (65 usd). He also gave us the chance to choose any desert we wanted although we stuck with the one on the set menu. Booking was easy enough as well. Overall though, it was a disappointing experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Consistently voted as one of Hawaii's best restaurants, James Beard award-winning Chef Alan Wong uses the freshest locally grown produce and the bounty of the Pacific Ocean to create local favorites with a contemporary twist. Inspired by the unique ethnic
I have Celiac Disease and require gluten free food. Alan Wong's staff was knowledgable and communicated clearly and confidently with me and the kitchen. There were many gluten free options available and the kitchen was willing to make modifications when possible. We started with the Tomato salad which was incredible and unlike anything I have ever had! Order it! The kitchen was able to make the Ginger Sea Bass gluten free and it was incredible! (my husband loved the short ribs, not GF but looked great!). And almost everything on the dessert menu was GF. Both the Pineapple "Shave Ice" and "The Coconut" were amazing! The quality of food, the presentation, and the service make this place worth every penny! If we ever return to Honolulu, we will eat here again!

We went here on a Tuesday and were very pleased to see that they have a $5 pint special every Tuesday from 6:30-10:30 p.m. They have over a hundred beers on tap - both local craft beers, domestic, and international. I tried a Maui Pineapple Wheat and a Lilikoi Cider. Both were delicious. We also ordered food, and everything was delicious!! We started with boneless buffalo wings (amazing), my husband ordered the vampire-style tacos (he raved around them), and I ordered lumpia (the creamy soy-sesame sauce was fantastic). Our server, Kai, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Overall, everything was great. My daughter (10 years) was with us and it was very family friendly. We only have a couple more days here in Honolulu but ready plan to go back. If you want great food and drinks in a casual atmosphere, this is the perfect place! Even if you don't drink beer, they have a full drink menu of drinks. But if you do drink beer and like to try new ones, you must check it out!
