The South Island town of Wanaka appeals to both adventure lovers and relaxation-minded travelers. Situated on the crystal-clear waters of New Zealand's fourth-largest lake, just a short drive from Mount Aspiring National Park, Wanaka is an ideal spot to go fishing, hiking, skiing, wine-tasting or golfing. The city also hosts Warbirds Over Wanaka, the largest three-day air show in the Southern Hemisphere.

New Zealand's largest Fully Immersive VR experience, using cutting edge Infinity Platforms we will take you out of this reality. Don't just stand there, get in the game. We can cater for up to 10 people at a time, all linked experiences or individual adventures. Ages 7 and up.
Me and my partner popped into the shop after seeing a brochure in the local iSite that peaked my intrigue. I have a VR headset back home, but we have been traveling for the past 6 months and I needed to get my geek fix. The tech was awesome and the games available were great fun, and all for a very modest price. Dylan was a great help, setting me all up, recommending games, and even giving me a bonus 15 minutes for free as one of the games had a slight hiccup. (sorry if this gets you in trouble!) Would thoroughly recommend as an experience if you like your gaming. Will hopefully be visiting again soon!

Welcome to Wanaka's wonderful world of weirdness! Puzzling World has been messing with people's heads since 1973. Bizarre buildings, rooms of illusions and our famous maze will baffle your brain and challenge your perceptions of reality. Even if you only pay a visit to New Zealand's most unusual public toilets, your world will never be the same again. Seeing is disbelieving!
Puzzling World- Visit and be Puzzled Puzzling World, Wanaka, New Zealand is a sightseeing destination which you must visit just to be puzzled. Before entrance you will see leaning tower. Puzzling World is a world unique attraction. One management personnel advised me to take some amazing photos of the bizarre & iconic buildings there in the ‘Puzzling World’. The worth seeing items are (i)The Great Maze, (ii) Illusion Rooms, (iii) Roman Toilets, (iv) Leaning Tower, (v) Puzzle Centre & Gift Shop/Café. The Great Maze (Labyrinth) is a fascinating challenge – there are emergency doors for those with limited patience. Though I had patience, I used one emergency door because of my physical problem. Puzzling World is obviously an enjoyable attraction for all ages.

Basecamp Adventures Wanaka Climbing Centre offers a standard rock climbing wall with top rope, lead and bouldering inside and out, as well as Clip 'n Climb; the newest thing in family entertainment. The standard rock climbing wall is just that, a standard climbing wall. Clip 'n Climb consists of funky climbs and uses automatic belays, so no one has to manage the rope. The standard climbing wall requires 2 people, unless bouldering. The person managing the rope needs to be 13 years old or older. You can come any time and stay all day if you like.Clip 'n Climb runs on one hour sessions, starting on the hour. Bookings are highly recommended as space is limited in each session. Call to make a booking.Closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes (no skirts) are required for both sides.
We are regulars to Wanaka with our 7 and 4 year old and we've been to Basecamp for Clip n Climb since our 7 year old was 3! Needless to say our kids LOVE it and get such a sense of achievement from an hour climbing. They were literally buzzing after their last session. They were so proud of themselves. The staff are super friendly and there are great health and safety checks(ie clear and simple to follow). It is a great activity whatever the season or the weather - you can also grab a coffee at the cinema next door while the kids climb and let them at the playground outside afterwards.
